CSA Kanpur Courses and Fees

More than 50 programmes are available at UG, PG, and doctoral levels through eight constituent colleges located in Kanpur, Etawah, Hardoi, and Lakhimpur Kheri. As a state government university, CSA Kanpur charges lower fees than private agricultural institutions. The Agricultural Engineering and Dairy Technology B.Tech courses follow ICAR-recognised curriculum standards. Within the M.Sc. group, Agricultural Economics and Statistics has a total fee of INR 51,250, while the other M.Sc. disciplines cost INR 79,250.

CSA Kanpur Admission Process

Admission to CSA Kanpur's UG and PG courses is mainly based on UPCATET merit and centralised counselling. The university conducts this state-level process on behalf of the Uttar Pradesh government.

UG Admission for B.Sc. Agriculture, B.Tech, and BFSc

Applicants must pass Class 12 from a recognised board with at least 50% aggregate marks. The minimum is 45% for reserved-category applicants. Depending on the chosen course, the student must study Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Mathematics in the Science stream.

PG Admission for M.Sc. and Ph.D.

Students can enter an M.Sc. programme through UPCATET PG or the ICAR National Entrance Test (NET). They need a B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture degree or another relevant allied degree with at least 60% aggregate marks. Ph.D. selection uses the ICAR JRF merit list or a university entrance examination. Applicants must hold an M.Sc. in the relevant field with a minimum aggregate of 60%.

CSA Kanpur Placements and Career Outcomes

CSA Kanpur supports several career routes instead of focusing only on standard campus placements. Its Training and Placement Cell organises recruitment for final-year students and helps those preparing for ICAR JRF, UPSC, and state agriculture cadre examinations.

Students recruited through campus drives record median packages of INR 4.5 LPA at the UG level and INR 5.5 LPA at the PG level. Employment opportunities mainly come from agricultural inputs, food processing, agricultural finance, research, and government services.

Agricultural Engineering graduates also apply for government posts through the UPPSC AE and UPSSSC Junior Engineer examinations. Students completing Dairy Technology can seek roles with cooperative dairy organisations such as Amul, Parag, and Mother Dairy, as well as private food-processing companies.

UPCATET-qualified students in Uttar Pradesh often consider CSA Kanpur alongside Narendra Dev University of Agriculture and Technology (NDUAT) Ayodhya and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology (SVPUAT) Meerut. Each is a state government agricultural university in Uttar Pradesh, and all three use UPCATET merit and counselling for admission.

CSA Kanpur has released more than 150 high-yielding crop varieties, giving it an advantage in research output.
