SHUATS Admission Dates 2026

For the 2026-27 session, SHUATS uses SHUATS-EAT for most programmes and ICAR-AIEEA for agriculture and horticulture courses. JEE Main scores are also accepted for B.Tech admission. The main intake is in July, while the full admission cycle usually stretches from May to September.

The entrance exam accepted depends on the programme applied for. The major programme-wise admission routes are given below.

SHUATS Courses and Fees

SHUATS has more than 200 programmes in agriculture, engineering, allied health sciences, management, and arts. Its 4-year B.Tech fee range is INR 4,45,235 to INR 5,46,000. For B.Sc (Hons) agriculture-related courses, the 4-year fee range is INR 3,55,235 to INR 4,91,235.

B.Sc Nursing costs INR 88,235 for 4 years, making it one of the lower-fee nursing options at a NAAC A-accredited institution in Uttar Pradesh. The MBA Agri-Business programme costs INR 2,69,235 and combines agri-business management with electives in farm and food technology.

SHUATS Admission Process

SHUATS has two main admission routes. Core agriculture courses follow ICAR-linked admission, while technology, management, and allied health courses use the university-level SHUATS-EAT. Most programmes follow merit-based admission, and spot admission is not used for most courses.

B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture, Horticulture, and Forestry

Applicants need 10+2 from a recognised board with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Agriculture. The minimum required marks are 50%, while reserved category students need 45%. Seats are allotted through ICAR-AIEEA rank or SHUATS-EAT merit, with ICAR-AIEEA score holders getting priority during merit list preparation. SHUATS-EAT is usually conducted in May at centres in Uttar Pradesh and nearby states.

B.Tech Admission

For B.Tech courses, SHUATS considers JEE Main percentile and SHUATS-EAT scores. Students must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and at least 45% marks. Higher JEE Main percentile helps a student get a better merit position. GATE scores are used for lateral-entry and M.Tech admission.

Allied Health Sciences (Nursing, MLT, Radiography)

B.Sc Nursing and related allied health science courses need 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and a minimum of 45% marks. Admission is based on SHUATS-EAT. For Nursing, students must be at least 17 years old at the time of admission as per Indian Nursing Council norms.

MBA Admission

For MBA admission, candidates need graduation with at least 50% marks. SHUATS accepts CAT, MAT, and SHUATS-EAT scores. Shortlisted candidates must appear for the GD-PI round. For MBA Agri-Business, applicants with a B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture background get preference while specialisations are allotted.

M.Sc and M.Tech Admission

M.Sc agriculture applicants must hold a B.Sc (Hons) degree in the relevant subject with at least 55% marks. ICAR-PGS scoreholders are given priority. For M.Tech, candidates need a B.Tech degree in the relevant field, at least 55% marks, and a valid GATE score or SHUATS-EAT rank.

SHUATS Placements

SHUATS organises campus placements through its Central Placement Cell for B.Tech, B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture and allied sciences, MBA, and M.Tech students. The placement season is usually held from October to February. Food and agri-processing companies form a major part of the recruiter base.

NIRF 2025 data reports the median salary for placed M.Tech graduates at INR 4,70,000 per annum. The same NIRF report lists the B.Pharma median salary at INR 3,00,000 per annum. B.Tech CSE and ECE students are placed in IT and electronics companies, along with agri-tech firms.

SHUATS Rankings

SHUATS appears in NIRF under the Pharmacy category. It is not currently present in the ranked lists for NIRF Agriculture, Engineering, or University categories. Its NAAC A grade shows recognised performance in teaching, research, and extension work across agriculture and technology faculties.

ICAR and ICFRE approvals make SHUATS one of the few private deemed universities in India recognised by major bodies for agriculture and forestry research. This recognition is important for B.Sc Hons Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, and related postgraduate programmes.

SHUATS Scholarships

SHUATS students can apply for central government scholarships, ICAR junior research fellowships, institutional merit scholarships, and Uttar Pradesh state government schemes.

SHUATS Campus and Infrastructure

SHUATS has a 1,040-acre campus in Naini, Prayagraj, on the Allahabad-Naini road. Out of this, 420 acres are used as working research farms with crop trials, seed production plots, horticulture demonstration blocks, and agroforestry plots. These farm areas also work as teaching laboratories for B.Sc Agriculture and Horticulture students.

The campus includes a central dairy plant, food processing pilot plant, fisheries pond network, and greenhouse complex. The Agricultural Engineering department has a farm machinery workshop and an irrigation and drainage engineering laboratory. The Forestry department maintains a nursery and a dendrology garden.

Separate hostels are available for male and female students. Hostel fees range from INR 16,000 to INR 85,000 per year for boys and INR 14,000 to INR 85,000 per year for girls, based on room type and meal plan. The campus also has a central library, sports complex, NCC and NSS units, a chapel, and a multi-faith prayer hall.

SHUATS vs GBPUAT vs CSAUAT

Students looking for B.Sc Agriculture, Horticulture, or Forestry in North India often compare SHUATS with Gobind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology (GBPUAT), Pantnagar, Uttarakhand, and Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology (CSAUAT), Kanpur, UP. All three universities offer four-year B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture through ICAR-AIEEA admission.

GBPUAT Pantnagar is India’s first agricultural university. It has much lower fees and a stronger government research ecosystem. CSAUAT Kanpur is a leading state government agricultural university in Uttar Pradesh and also has a lower fee level. SHUATS charges higher fees, but it offers a wider mix of programmes, including B.Tech Agricultural Engineering, allied health sciences, and management courses that are not available at government agricultural universities.
