West Bengal State University (WBSU) is a state university established in 2008 at Barasat, West Bengal. Through WBSU affiliated colleges, it provides courses such as BA and M.Sc in Arts, Science, Commerce, Education, Business Administration and Physical Education, along with other UG, PG and Ph.D. programmes.

WBSU UG Application Process

Students can complete the UG application through the following steps:

  1. Open the official West Bengal State University website.
  2. Enter the requested information in the application form and submit it online.

WBSU PG Application Process

PG applications are submitted online. Applicants must keep a printed copy of the completed form and deliver it to the WBSU PG section with self-attested supporting documents. The application fee e-receipt should also be attached.

WBSU Ph.D. Admission

WBSU accepts Ph.D. applications for Zoology and offers doctoral study across several other departments. The Board of Research Studies for each subject or interdisciplinary field decides how many students may join the programme.

Applicants need a master's degree in the relevant discipline with at least 55% marks. The minimum is 50% for reserved-category applicants. Selection combines the discipline-specific Research Entrance Test (RET) with a viva-voce or interview. Applicants holding a valid NET, SET or GATE score, or an M.Phil. degree, do not have to take the admission test.

Download the form from the WBSU website and complete it. For Zoology applications, the downloaded form must be submitted to the university with an application fee of INR 1000 paid in cash.
