Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) Hyderabad began in 2010 as a constituent campus of SVKM’s NMIMS Deemed-to-be University. The UGC recognises the university, which holds a NAAC A+ grade with a 3.59 CGPA. Its School of Business Management has AMBA accreditation and was the first B-school in Hyderabad to receive this international recognition.

SVKM’s NMIMS Deemed-to-be University secured #24 in Management and #52 in the Overall category in NIRF 2025. These university-level positions cover the complete NMIMS system, including the Hyderabad campus.

The institution has a 90-acre residential campus at Jadcherla in Mahboobnagar, 75 km from central Hyderabad, along with another facility at Tarnaka. Students must live in the campus hostel. Ten programmes are available through five schools:

  • The 2-year MBA is the flagship course of the AMBA-accredited School of Business Management, with admission based on NMAT by GMAC.
  • BBA and BCom are 4-year undergraduate programmes in business and commerce, and applicants qualify through NPAT.
  • B.Tech in Computer Engineering and B.Tech in Data Sciences are 4-year engineering courses that use NMIMS-CET for admission.
  • The pharmacy options include B.Pharm and the integrated B.Pharm + MBA in Pharma Tech, with entry through NMIMS-CET.
  • BA LLB (Hons.) and BBA LLB (Hons.) are 5-year integrated law degrees that admit students through NLAT.

The MBA tuition fee is INR 22 Lakhs for two years, or INR 11 Lakhs per year. Each of the two B.Tech programmes costs INR 9 Lakhs over four years, while the four-year BBA fee is INR 12 Lakhs. Every student must also pay an annual hostel charge of INR 2.25 to INR 2.50 Lakhs. Seats are allotted only on merit through NMAT, NPAT, NMIMS-CET, or NLAT, with no management quota or capitation route.

During the MBA 2025 placement season, the highest salary reached INR 20 LPA and the average stood at INR 11 LPA. Recruiters included HSBC, JPMorgan, Wells Fargo, EY, ICICI Bank, Accenture, and Amazon.

NMIMS Hyderabad Admission Process

Admission is merit-based and depends on the entrance test assigned to each programme. MBA applicants take NMAT, BBA and BCom applicants use NPAT, engineering and pharmacy applicants sit for NMIMS-CET, and law applicants appear for NLAT. The institute offers no management-quota or direct-admission route.

MBA Admission

NMAT by GMAC is the qualifying examination for the MBA. Only the score from an applicant’s first NMAT attempt is used.

  1. Complete a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum aggregate of 50%. Work experience is preferred but is not compulsory.
  2. Register for NMAT and take the examination.
  3. Wait for shortlisting based on the NMAT score.
  4. Attend the Competency Test and Personal Interview at the Hyderabad campus.
  5. Receive an offer letter from NMIMS after the final selection.

BBA and BCom Admission

Applicants for BBA or BCom must have passed 10+2 in any stream with at least 50%. They take NPAT, the National Test for Programmes After Twelfth, at designated test centres. NMIMS prepares the shortlist from the test score and the applicant’s campus preference.

B.Tech and B.Pharm Admission

NMIMS-CET is required for B.Tech in Computer Engineering, B.Tech in Data Sciences, and B.Pharm. B.Tech applicants need 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and at least 45% in these subjects. B.Pharm applicants must complete 10+2 with either Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, securing a minimum aggregate of 45%. The entrance test is held at designated centres, and merit lists are issued in June.

Law Admission

BA LLB (Hons.) and BBA LLB (Hons.) use NLAT, the NMIMS Law Admission Test. Applicants may come from any 10+2 stream but must have at least 50% and be no older than 25 years. Selection depends on NLAT merit, without a management quota.

Among these institutions, NMIMS has the highest stated parent-university NIRF position and selects students through NMAT without a management quota. IBS has operated in Hyderabad since 1995 and holds AACSB accreditation. SIBM uses SNAP, giving applicants an admission route that does not depend on CAT. NMIMS charges more for its MBA than the other two institutes, so applicants should compare the fee with its NIRF standing, AMBA accreditation, and NMAT-based selection process.
