The application process for admission into the Madras Christian College (MCC) is going on at the moment for all its undergraduate and postgraduate programs for the academic year 2023-24. While admission into the MCA course is based on the TANCET (Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test) exam, admission to all the other courses will be based on merit. All applications need to be done in the online mode, and the University has closed giving out forms in the offline mode.

- B.A. and B.Voc: For admission into the B.A. and B.Voc courses, the student needs to have passed their 10+2 examinations from a recognized university/board with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks
- B.Com: For admission into the B.Com course, the student needs to have passed their 10+2 examinations from a recognized university/board with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the commerce stream
- B.Sc.: For admission into the B.Sc courses of Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, the student needs to have passed their 10+2 examinations from a recognized university/board with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks, and with physics, chemistry, and mathematics as compulsory subjects
- B.Sc (Biology related branches): For students seeking admission into the following B.Sc courses - Microbiology, Plant Biology, and Plaunt Biotechnology, Zoology, the students need to have taken Biology as a compulsory subject in their 10+2 examinations
- Candidates from Open Universities or boards other than Tamil Nadu State Board, CBSE, AISSCE, and ISCE will have to produce an eligibility certificate from the University of Madras
- The age limit for students for admissions to UG courses is 21 yrs as on July 1, 2021, with a relaxation of five years allowed for differently abled candidates and three years for women candidates

- There is no separate entrance exam for any of the undergraduate courses, and selection is entirely based on the 10+2 score of the student

Eligibility Criteria
For each of the different postgraduate courses, here are the eligibility criteria that need to be followed:
- M.Sc.: For admission into the M.Sc course, the student needs to have cleared their B.Sc degree from a recognized university with at least a 50% score. For students in the final year of their B.Sc. degree, their scores up to the fifth semester would be taken into account. Candidates interested in a particular branch for their Master's need to have taken the required subjects in their B.Sc course.
- M.Sc (Biology related branches): Graduates or graduating students with specialization in microbiology, botany, zoology, biochemistry, nutrition and dietetics, and chemistry are eligible for admission in M.Sc applied microbiology
- M.A. and M.S.W: For admission into the M.A. course, the student needs to have cleared their graduation (in any branch) from a recognized university with at least 50% score. For students in the final year of their graduation degree, their scores up to the fifth semester would be taken into account.
- M.Com: For admission into the M.Com course, graduates/graduating students in the following degrees with a minimum of 50% score are eligible - B.Com, BBM, BBA, E-Commerce, Bank Management, Corporate Secretary, Computer Science, IT. For students in the final year of their graduation degree, their scores up to the fifth semester would be taken into account.
- MCA: Admission to the MCA course is done through the TANCET (Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test) entrance exam. This is the only postgraduate course at the Madras Christian College, Chennai, whose admission is based on a separate entrance exam that the students need to give. The interested students need to register for the MCA exam on the TANCET portal separately, and then upload their scores for selection into the MCA course at MCC. The other prerequisite is for the students to have graduated with their BCA degree from a recognized university with at least a 50% score. For students in the final year of their BCA graduation degree, their scores up to the fifth semester would be taken into account.
