Thiagarajar College UG Selection Criteria

UG aided seats are allotted through TNGASA counselling. Students are ranked using their Class 12 aggregate marks, and seats are given during counselling rounds. The college does not conduct a separate entrance exam for UG admission.

  • Aided seats: TNGASA prepares ranks using Class 12 aggregate marks, and allotment follows the counselling rank order.
  • Self-financed seats: Thiagarajar College prepares a separate merit list from Class 12 marks and then calls selected students for document checking and seat confirmation.
  • Special quota seats for Sports, NCC, and Ex-Servicemen are filled before general category allotment in a separate counselling round.
  • If two students have the same marks, preference goes to the student with higher marks in the core or major subject linked to the chosen course.
