Seats for the 2027-28 MD, MS, DM, and M.Ch session will be assigned through the relevant postgraduate entrance examination and counselling process. MSRMC handles fellowship selection directly throughout the year.

Ramaiah Medical College Courses and Fees

Medical education at MSRMC begins with MBBS and extends to MD, MS, DM, M.Ch, and fellowship programmes. Fees for clinical MD and MS branches are higher than those charged for preclinical and paraclinical subjects.

The full MBBS fee under the NRI quota is INR 45,00,000 for 5.5 years. For NRI students entering MD Dermatology, the fee is INR 1,25,00,000. This branch has very high competition within the deemed university quota.

Ramaiah Medical College Admission Process

NEET scores are compulsory for admission to the main medical programmes at MSRMC. MBBS applicants use NEET UG, while MD and MS applicants need NEET PG. MBBS counselling takes place through MCC for deemed university seats and Karnataka KEA for eligible state quota applicants. MCC Deemed PG counselling handles MD and MS seat allotment.

MBBS Admission

Applicants must pass 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The minimum combined score is 50% for the General Category, 45% for OBC candidates, and 40% for SC and ST candidates. A valid NEET UG score is also required.

Students considering MSRMC through the deemed university quota often compare it with St. John’s Medical College in Bengaluru and KMC Mangalore. All three are private medical colleges in Karnataka, though their seat numbers, fees, rankings, affiliations, and hospital sizes differ.

KMC Mangalore had a higher NIRF Medical 2025 position at 35, compared with 50 for MSRMC. Its MBBS fee of INR 6,91,070 was also below MSRMC’s INR 26,00,000, which may suit students seeking lower total costs within a similar rank band. MSRMC offers a Bengaluru location, access to the city’s hospital network, and training in a 1,392-bed hospital. St. John’s has aided college status and lower fees, but its annual MBBS intake is smaller at 100 seats.
