RGMCET Admission Process

Admission depends on the programme and the applicable entrance examination. APSCHE conducts centralised online counselling for B.Tech, MBA, MCA and M.Tech seats, while the process for Ph.D. admission follows JNTUA rules.

B.Tech Admission

APSCHE allocates B.Tech seats through AP EAPCET web counselling. Applicants first qualify for the examination, enter their preferred college and branch online, and then receive a seat allotment according to their rank and available seats.

Applicants must meet these B.Tech conditions:

  • Pass Class 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
  • Obtain at least 45% aggregate in PCM, or 40% for reserved categories under Andhra Pradesh rules
  • Hold a valid AP EAPCET rank

In recent admission cycles, the General-category closing rank for CSE has usually fallen between 10,000 and 25,000. ECE, EEE and Mechanical Engineering generally close at higher rank numbers. Diploma holders may enter the second year of B.Tech through lateral admission after qualifying AP ECET.

MBA and MCA Admission

Applicants for MBA and MCA must qualify AP ICET and participate in APSCHE web counselling. Andhra University conducts the Integrated Common Entrance Test each year on behalf of APSCHE. Any bachelor’s degree is accepted for MBA, whereas MCA applicants must have studied Mathematics as part of their degree.

M.Tech Admission

M.Tech seats are allotted through APSCHE counselling using AP PGECET or GATE scores. AP PGECET assigns a separate subject code to each specialisation. Candidates with a valid GATE score may qualify for fee reimbursement under Andhra Pradesh government schemes.

RGMCET Campus and Infrastructure

RGMCET has a 50-acre campus on NH-18 in Nandyal, Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh. The institution is 5 km from Nandyal town and has road connectivity. Rail services connect Nandyal with Kurnool, Guntur and Hyderabad.

Academic facilities include laboratories for individual departments, internet-enabled computer centres, a central library and an auditorium. RGMCET became a SIEMENS Technical Skill Development Institute in 2016. Its industry-grade Siemens laboratories support ECE and EEE students. The college holds ISO 9001-2008 certification for its quality management systems.

DSIR recognition enables the research centre to purchase scientific equipment at concessional customs duty for postgraduate and doctoral work. The campus also provides sports grounds, NCC and NSS units, and separate hostel facilities for boys and girls. Students should confirm the current annual hostel charges with the RGMCET admission office because the 2025-26 schedule did not publish residential fees.

RGMCET vs SVEC Tirupati vs SIETK Puttur

Students applying through AP EAPCET may compare RGMCET in Nandyal with Sree Vidyanikethan Engineering College (SVEC) in Tirupati and Siddharth Institute of Engineering and Technology (SIETK) in Puttur.
