SPA Delhi: UG Admissions - B.Arch and B.Plan 2023

Undergraduate education at the School of Planning and Architecture in Delhi includes a five-year full-time B.Arch degree and a four-year full-time B.Plan degree. The Council of Architecture has recognized the B.Arch and B.Plan program at SPA Delhi. 

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must have at least 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 or equivalent examinations in order to apply to the B.Arch and B.Plan programs at SPA Delhi. In 10+2 exams, candidates must have Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as their main subjects. 
• Candidates who have obtained at least 50 % marks in Diploma courses with Maths as one of their main subjects are also eligible for admission to B.Arch and B.Plan courses at SPA Delhi.

Selection Criteria

• The JEE Main Paper 2 entrance exam score is used to make the final selection. 
• Seats will be assigned based on JEE Main rank, which will be determined by JoSAA (Joint Seat Selection Authority) counseling. 
• Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA) score will be used to admit NRI/PIO/FN students to BArch and BPlan programs.

Cut Off

The cut-off for B.Arch and B.Plan courses at SPA Delhi is decided based on JEE MAIN

Application Process

• The application runs in offline mode. 
• Following the allocation of seats through JoSAA counseling, selected candidates must fill out an application form available at the college. 
• The application fee is Rs 100, which can be paid at the college itself.
• All the original documents required along with a scanned copy of each need to be carried along on the day of physical reporting at the college.

SPA Delhi: M.Arch Admissions 2023

Under postgraduate programs, SPA Delhi offers a Master of Architecture program. The M.Arch program has a time duration of 2 years.

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must have obtained at least 55% (5% relaxation for SC/ST students) aggregate marks in their B.Arch examinations in order to apply to the M.Arch program.

Selection Criteria

A merit list will be drawn up based on the cumulative score obtained from the five areas listed below, depending on which candidates will be admitted to the M.Arch course: 

• Marks scored in the qualifying examination 
• Work portfolio 
• Interaction with professors and/or a written test 
• Interest in the chosen field of study
• Work experience
• Candidates who have scored a passing score in GATE/CEED will be preferred. 

SPA Delhi: PG, M. Plan, MBEM, and MLA

Master of Building Engineering and Management (MBEM), Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA), and Master of Planning (M.Plan) are the three more post-graduate programs offered by the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA) Delhi.

Eligibility Criteria 

• For M.Plan, candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in Civil/Architectural Engineering. 
• Candidates with a master’s degree in relevant subjects can also apply for M.Plan.
• For MBEM, the Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in engineering streams such as Building/Civil/Architectural/Building Science/Architecture or Five-Year Diploma in Construction Technology
• For MLA, the Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture/Planning/Architecture

Selection Criteria 

Admissions to M.Plan, MBEM, and MLA will be based on the cumulative score obtained by evaluating marks scored in the qualifying examination, work portfolio, interaction with professors and/or a written test, interest for the chosen field of study, and work experience

Application process

• Students can get the application form from the institute's website. 
• Select "Admission 2021" from the drop-down menu. 
• "Application form for PG" should be selected then. 
• On the screen, there will be an application form. The form can be downloaded by clicking the download icon in the right corner. 
• Students can now complete the form with all of the relevant information. 
• Finally, students can send the form to the institute's admissions office or visit the institute in person to submit it.
• The rest of the admissions process will take place on the institute's campus.

SPA Delhi: Ph.D. Admissions 2023

Full-time and part-time Ph.D. programs are available at SPA Delhi. Students in the full-time program must complete their program within five years, whereas part-time students have a maximum of seven years to complete their course from the date of registration. Apart from educating postgraduate students for 8-10 hours per week, full-time applicants must meet residency criteria. The Research Methodology course is needed for both full-time and part-time applicants.

• Ph.D. admissions are processed twice a year, at the beginning of either semester (January/July) of the academic year.
• The qualifying criteria for Ph.D. (Part-Time) will be the same as below, with the exception being that the applicant must have five years of extra work experience in addition to the one indicated below, and must acquire a letter of approval from the employer (if any). 

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must have a Master’s degree in any discipline or
• Candidate must have a degree in an allied discipline with a minimum of 55% marks + 10 years of work experience or
• Candidates must have a B.Arch or B.Plan degree + 5 years of work experience.

Selection Criteria

Final admissions will be done based on the merit obtained in the qualifying examination and the candidates’ performance in interviews.
