There are 2 mandatory internships during the course. last time I did in WBHIDCO in Kolkata. It was my first office experience. It was unpaid (a government internship will not have a stipend). It was a pleasant experience. The internships will be for 6 weeks during summer.

Read Full ReviewI am not sure about the eligibility criteria for the placements. However, I presume that there is a requirement of a CGPA of 6.0 to fall under the placement cell. There is a placement cell that doesn't provide any placements to the college directly. Yet, the process of getting a job for a planning student is quite easy compared to the planning student of other colleges because of the image of the college in the market.
I have done two internships till now during the course. One was in 2023 and the other in 2024. This means, that one internship needs to be done after the completion of 2nd year and the other is to be done after the completion of the third year. Yet, they are outside the college and do not have any connection to the college.

Read Full ReviewFor the B.Plan Course, placement is a major issue where the on-campus rates hover between 10-30%. The rest of them get placed through off-campus means. Though this might appear disheartening, the 4 years of rigor teach you how to get your dream job on your own. Moreover, we have a very strong alumni network that helps in getting placements and internships. The average package offered at undergraduate levels varies from 3-6 LPA. Most of the students get admissions for masters in other universities which gives a significant jump of 3-4 times in their undergrad salary levels.
The college acts as an external project-based consultant for various government bodies like DDA, State Town Planning Departments, NHAI, PWD, etc and hence getting internships in government bodies is not an issue. But most of them are usually unpaid. Many students opt for internships in private consultancies and think tanks like CEEW, SEEDS, NIUA, CSE, etc which usually pays them a good stipend of Rs. 5000-10000. A small section of students also prefer to pursue internships in premier academic institutions like IITs and IIMs which are useful if one is interested in going towards research/academic fields in the future.
