CGC Landran Admission Dates 2027

The next CGC Landran admission cycle for 2027-28 is expected to begin in early 2027. The tentative schedule is listed below.

Admission requirements differ by programme. CGC Landran uses entrance scores for some courses and merit-based admission for others.

CGC Landran Courses and Fees

CGC Landran has more than 50 courses in engineering, pharmacy, management, computer applications, hospitality, sciences, and related fields. The table gives the total programme fee as per the 2026 fee structure.

B.Tech is offered in CSE, AI and ML, Data Science, Cyber Security, IoT and Blockchain, ECE, Electronics and Computer Engineering, IT, Mechanical Engineering, and Robotics and AI. M.Pharm is available in Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Pharmacy Practice, and Regulatory Affairs with a total 2-year fee of INR 3.37 Lakhs. Boys and girls can apply for hostel rooms, with charges between INR 1.15 to 1.70 Lakhs per annum.

CGC Landran Admission Process

B.Tech Admission

For B.Tech, CGC Landran admits students through IKG PTU centralised counselling using JEE Main scores. Students register on the PTU portal, enter their preferred branches, and get seats according to merit rank.

• Eligibility: 10+2 with minimum 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a recognised board
• Entrance exam: Valid JEE Main score
• Selection stages: JEE Main merit rank, PTU counselling registration, choice filling, seat allotment, document verification, and admission confirmation
• Lateral entry: Diploma holders can use LEET to enter directly into the second year of B.Tech

JEE Main percentile ranges of 40 to 70 usually allow B.Tech admission at CGC Landran, depending on branch and category. CSE and AI/ML generally need higher cutoffs than Mechanical Engineering and ECE.

MBA and MCA Admission

MBA applicants can use CAT, MAT, CMAT, or XAT scores. The basic requirement is graduation with 50% aggregate marks. Admission is done through IKG PTU counselling or by direct admission at CGC Landran.

For MCA, students must have a graduation degree with Mathematics as one of the subjects. NIMCET and PTU CET scores are accepted. Most applicants come from BCA, B.Sc (CS or IT), and B.Tech backgrounds.

B.Pharm and Pharm.D Admission

B.Pharm admission is based on NEET scores or direct admission for students who have 10+2 with PCB. Pharm.D needs 10+2 with PCB and a valid NEET score. Both courses are run by Chandigarh College of Pharmacy and approved by the Pharmacy Council of India.

BBA, BCA, B.Com, and Hospitality Programmes

BBA, BCA, and B.Com (Hons.) admissions are based on 10+2 marks in any stream. CUET scores may be considered for relevant programmes. BHMCT and BTTM use 10+2 merit, with approvals from NCHMCT and the Ministry of Tourism respectively.

CGC Landran Placements

The Training and Placement Cell at CGC Landran has helped students receive more than 10,000 placement offers in total. More than 1,300 companies have taken part in recruitment across its constituent colleges, and the institute has links with over 100 industry partners in IT services, analytics, banking, and e-commerce.

The highest package recorded is INR 1.14 Crore PA. In recent placement seasons, more than 30 companies offered packages of INR 20 LPA and above. Major recorded offers include Microsoft at INR 42 LPA, Google at INR 35 LPA, Morgan Stanley at INR 30 LPA, Amazon at INR 24 LPA, and American Express at INR 21.93 LPA.

Students from CCP find roles in pharmaceutical manufacturing, research and development, and hospital pharmacy. CEC engineering and technology students receive the largest share of IT and product company offers each season.

CGC Landran Rankings

CGC Landran appears in NIRF 2025 through three of its constituent colleges. Chandigarh College of Pharmacy has the strongest listed position with 69th rank in NIRF Pharmacy. Chandigarh Engineering College is also cited as the only self-financed engineering college in Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh to enter the NIRF Overall band of 151 to 200.

The institution has received the A+ grade from NAAC. CGC Landran is not part of QS, THE, or FT rankings, as these ranking systems focus on research-heavy and deemed universities.

CGC Landran Scholarships

The EMPOWER Scholarship Scheme at CGC Landran supports new UG and PG students. The fee waiver depends on Class XII marks or national entrance exam percentile, and students can renew it every semester by keeping an SGPA of 8.0 or above.

The waiver applies to the semester fee and is limited to 10% of the sanctioned intake in each programme. For PG courses, CAT or GATE percentile is used instead of Class XII marks. Diploma students applying through lateral entry are judged on their diploma aggregate percentage.

CGC Landran Campus and Infrastructure

CGC Landran is located on the Chandigarh-Ropar highway at Sector 112, Landran, Mohali, Punjab. Its 45-acre campus includes separate blocks for engineering, pharmacy, management, and sciences. Students also use a central library, specialised laboratories, and a sports complex with indoor and outdoor facilities.

The campus provides separate hostels for male and female students. Hostel charges are INR 1.15 to 1.70 Lakhs per annum for both genders and include accommodation and meals. Wi-Fi is available across academic buildings, and shuttle services run from Chandigarh and Mohali.

The entrepreneurship cell has helped incubate more than 150 startups. The institute also has more than 100 active industry partnerships, along with a medical centre and cafeteria on campus. Since its establishment in 2001, CGC Landran has been running for more than 25 years.

CGC Landran vs Chandigarh University vs LPU

Private engineering and management aspirants in Punjab often compare CGC Landran with Chandigarh University at Gharuan, Mohali, and Lovely Professional University at Phagwara. All three are NAAC-accredited institutions with large multi-discipline campuses in the region.

CGC Landran stands out in pharmacy because CCP has NIRF Pharmacy rank 69, which CU and LPU do not show in this comparison. CU and LPU have deemed-to-be university status and award their own degrees, while CGC Landran students receive IKG PTU degrees. LPU has the highest NAAC grade among the three with A++, and both CU and LPU rank higher in NIRF Engineering.
