College-work balance ( a Journalism life at IHE University of Delhi)

Course Curriculum Overview:

Journalism degree provides you much more knowledge about the different fields as well as the different editing and views of different projects there are a lot to learn about journalism will learn about advertising PR radio broadcasting newspaper editing newspaper writing as well as the social media platform Faculty member of my college are not that great and not that professional they treat student as who is more valuable and who is more affordable the faculty is not that professional but our exams are so strict and very professional they follow the guidelines of the Delhi University

Remarks:

if i describe about my college to be honest and I got this college by CUET Exam score and to be honest in journalism this is all about practical learning rather than the subjective and theoretical part journalism is subject where you learn about photography film making writing blog newspaper editing and different digital platform value there is no interview or written test as if they just select you depend on your CUET score

Overview of Bsc Hons Food Technology at Institite of home economic

What I Liked

I like the greenery around my college because it makes a very pleasant envionment...
I like my college food its vey hygeinic also very tasty, faculty is very helpful

What I didn’t like

I dont like the admin staff as they take a lot of time to do all the admin nd paper work
Sometimes i dont like the washroom and sanitary maintainance

Placement Experience:

Placements are given but they does not give a high package they offer around 5lpa its the maximum amount i have heard from my seniors but one should focus on further studies as a bachelors degree is not enough for a better employment plan

Remarks:

To be honest i didnt chose this college and course because of CUET and CSAS portal i didnt had any choice but when i m doing this course i am liking it its a very professional course and is very interesting to study

What I Liked

Faculty and societies like enactus pr and Many others
Campus Life and fests the competitions as well as the events organised

What I didn’t like

Infrastructure is not that great and can be improved
The amenities provided are not upto mark moreover there is an issue with the wifi in the college

Placement Experience:

Till now there has been no placements but the placement society does organize a placement fair which has a lot of different companies to come and participate. Here we are allowed to get to know the company and network properly

Remarks:

Admission was through cuet exam and before the 1st semester ended the documents were physically verified by the faculty and admin. The lab will charge you extra for the ingredients and will just sometimes provide you with dry ingredients for experiments and practicals. The faculty is nice

What I Liked

Faculty, because all teachers only wanted us to succeed.
My campus life was great! The college hosts and collaborates for events like Sufi Night and AIWRT. The experiences were great.

What I didn’t like

Infrastructure was not so good. Was a small area.
Admin Office, they rarely have actual answers to questions.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell does bring in companies, but it would be better if you start looking for places where you might want to work considering the area, timings and environment. The workload is very very easily manageable, and it’s okay even if you work full time. Just be on time with submissions and exams and you are good.

Remarks:

I chose this college because reference contacts said "it has better facilities as compared to other colleges". The admission process was very simple, maybe because I enrolled while Corona was at its peak in 2020. Everything was done online on a merit basis.

choose wisely girls!

What I Liked

I like location of our college..it's in hauz khas, very safe and pretty place to hangout after college and faculty also very nice and helpful

What I didn’t like

Infrastructure of college should me more better and big, Because of that we don't have as such campus life.
and it's a girls college! so if you aren't a big fan of girls or something! you need to choose wisely

Placement Experience:

I don't know about placement and job opportunities from the college side yet..but they do have a placement cell that is actively working for internships. but you can easily get a job if you have relevant skills.

Remarks:

Yes, I took the CUET in 2022 and based on my marks I got into this college. I didn't choose this but it's okay I am doing a good course now so I am satisfied..because in CUET if you don't have very good marks you can't choose your dream college.

What I Liked

College infrastructure was okay okay, our faculty was hardworking and active and they used to come with that positive energy with them, campus was okay, labs were appreciable.
Practical were performed in well mannered with all norms.

What I didn’t like

I never liked the hygienic conditions in our college, washrooms were not cleaned properly.
The teachers were not so connected with students, though they were good but they were not connected personally to students.

Placement Experience:

This is the drawback of my college, they didn't provide any internships to us. We used to work for our internships with no help from the college side. Or even in providing LOR, they were behaving annoyingly.

Remarks:

As it's under Delhi University the college is good and also it's a girl's college at that point of my life I wanted to go in a girl's college and cut off were also according to my 12th class marks the admission was online and as I was interested in food and science so I opted for this course.

What I Liked

Campus infra: although small, the campus is aesthetically pleasing with a lot of greenery. It is disable - friendly, equipped with a lift and many ramps. Also, it is easily accessible for everyone.
Peaceful campus life with a Great location and regular activities. Nice faculty.

What I didn’t like

Rigorous curriculum. It is demanding for my course, timings being from 9-5 almost everyday. The student is required to be on their toes with regular submissions, files, tests, attendance. The schedule allows lesser free time than expected.
Small campus with no ground for athletics and football, tennis etc. No society for western music and Indian classical dance.

Placement Experience:

Placements are sparse and on-campus placements are limited to home science courses. No information is available for the packages offered. Students are encouraged to go for a master's instead of gaining work experience. I too am looking forward to a master's degree in food technology or packaging after graduation.

Remarks:

In 2021, admissions were based purely on the board exam marks obtained in physics, chemistry, math/biology. Now admissions are based on only CUET scores. No GD/PI. Chose the college for the following aspects: 1. Great location: Hauz Khas being a safe and peaceful area close to many happening places made it an ideal choice. 2. Transport: convenient since autos and bus stops are close to the college and it is within walking distance from the metro station. 3. Unique courses and reputation: it is well known in the DU circuit for its quality scientific curriculum and an array of unique courses like biochemistry, microbiology, food technology, elementary education, and journalism. Cons: 1. lack of a brand name. It is well known within DU but lacks familiarity outside. I picked the college mostly for the course and location.
