CEED 2024 questions and solutions cover Part A and the Part-B drawing and design tasks.

Part-B answers are assessed on the criteria given with each task, including composition, visual communication and usability. More than one design can meet the brief.

Part A lasts one hour. Part B lasts two hours and contains five compulsory questions worth 20 marks each. The two timers are separate; Part A cannot be resumed after Part B starts.

Part-A responses are entered on the computer. Part-B responses go in the supplied answer booklet, even though the question is shown on the screen.

CEED 2024 Part A: Question Types

Part A mixes numerical reasoning with visual observation, materials, transformations and interpretation of everyday objects. Questions include identifying distinct shapes, constructing objects from given components, reading signs, folding paper and working through a rotation followed by a reflection.

NAT questions require a numerical answer. An MSQ may have more than one correct option; an MCQ has one correct option.

For a rotation followed by a reflection, track the same corner or feature through both operations. Counting questions may ask for objects, surfaces, pairs or contact points.

CEED 2024 Part B: Drawing and Design Tasks

The four-frame box-lifting task needs a change in posture and expression across the sequence. The lettering task asks you to extend a supplied style, so stroke treatment, letter anatomy and proportion need to stay consistent.

The rural-kitchen task asks for five different problems, not a finished kitchen redesign. Start by identifying the issue visible to the user, then use the annotation to explain it. For the chair task, keep the source form recognisable while showing how the furniture can be used.

Colour restrictions depend on the task. A question may require black pencil or black-and-white icons even when other tasks allow colour.

CEED 2024 Marking Scheme and Answer-Key Notes

A correct NAT earns +4, an incorrect NAT scores zero, and an unanswered question scores zero. MCQs earn +3 for a correct answer and lose 0.5 for a wrong answer. MSQs use the partial-mark combinations below.

Final answer key: Part-A Question 14 was dropped, with +4 marks awarded to all. Question 12 accepts B alone or B and C together. NAT Question 2 accepts either 7 or 9; Question 8 accepts either 1 or 2.

Using This Paper for CEED Preparation

The 2024 paper uses the 44-question, 150-mark Part-A structure. The 2023 paper instead has 41 questions and 100 marks. Use each paper's own instructions when comparing practice scores.

Paper and Scoring

How many questions are in CEED 2024 Part A?+

There are 44: eight NATs, ten MSQs and 26 MCQs, carrying 150 marks in total.

Can I use the same marking scheme for every old CEED paper?+

No. The 2023 paper uses +3 for NAT/MSQ, no MSQ partial credit and a -0.2 MSQ penalty. The 2024-2026 papers use +4 for NAT/MSQ, partial MSQ credit and a -1 MSQ penalty. MCQ marks also differ.

Which answer-key correction matters for this paper?+

Part-A Question 14 was dropped, with +4 marks awarded to all. Question 12 accepts B alone or B and C together. NAT Question 2 accepts either 7 or 9; Question 8 accepts either 1 or 2.

Can I go back to Part A after starting Part B?+

No. The paper gives one hour for Part A and two hours for Part B. Once Part B begins, Part A cannot be attempted again.

Drawing and Practice

Is there only one correct Part-B drawing?+

No. Different drawings can meet the same brief. The answer must follow the required viewpoint, composition, product details and other criteria specified in the question.

Can I use colours for every Part-B answer?+

Only where the question permits it. Some tasks require pencil, black ink or black-and-white visuals.

Does the practice widget calculate official CEED marks?+

No. These are original practice questions. The result shows accuracy for the selected set, not a CEED score or rank.
