From roll number to application details, every detail matters and is helpful in identifying meritorious students from lakhs of aspirants. An error in any one of the information can lead to the cancellation of enrollment or admission. Hence, students must make sure to fully check the details mentioned in the scorecard. Here is the information that students must double-check on the scorecard:

  • Roll number
  • First, middle and last name
  • Parent/Guardian Name
  • A digital photograph of the candidate

Normalization of Scores in SRMJEEE 2022

The normalization of scores is a process employed by the SRMIST admission board to make sure that the students sitting for the exam do not receive any undue advantage or disadvantage due to the difficulty level of their chosen slots. When an exam is split into multiple slots, there is a chance that one question paper is tougher than the other one. In competitive exams, where seats are won or lost over decimal scores, even a sliver of variation can make or break an applicant’s chances of qualifying. SRMJEEE seeks to remove this possibility through the process of normalization. Here is the structure of the marks achieved by each student:

  • Raw Marks: Actual marks obtained by each applicant from the paper of their slot.
  • Normalized Marks: Modified marks consolidated after the treatment of actual marks through the process of normalization.

The impact of Normalization

  • Under normalization, if a candidate’s slot has easier questions in comparison to the other slot of his preferred discipline, then his actual marks will be more than his normalized marks.
  • But, if a candidate’s slot has tougher questions in comparison to the other slot of his preferred discipline, then the actual marks will be lesser than his normalized marks.

Normalization Formula Marks are normalized through a formula applied to the percentile score obtained by each student. The value below which observations fall is known as the percentile score. Since the percentile score determines the percentage scored by each candidate in SRMJEEE or that board.

SRMJEEE 2022 Merit List

SRMJEEE 2022 merit list determines the list of students that are called for counselling for a seat at SRMIST. The merit list is made available after the declaration of results. Students who clear the cut off get one step closer to their dreams of studying in one of the best universities in India. The merit list is split into two parts: The drawing list and the waiting list. The drawing list allots seats on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis to selected students. Whereas, the remaining seats are filled by the students enlisted on the waiting list.

Merit List Particulars:

  • Applicants who have high enough scores to make it to the merit list will be enlisted for SRMJEEE counselling.
  • Students who have completed the entire entrance exam process will be qualified for the merit list.
  • There is no enlistment/personal counselling for students who haven’t made it to the merit list.
  • Students must meet the cut-off criteria for enlistment into the merit list.
  • The merit list is generated solely from the marks obtained from the SRMJEEE test, and not any other past accomplishment or scoring.
  • There will be no seat allotment for students who don’t make it past the cut-off.
  • The merit list is based on the normalized scores obtained by the students, not the raw scores.
  • The adjusted marks obtained after normalization must be accepted by the students and the university.

SRMJEEE 2022 Cut Off

The admission board and examination authority at SRMIST decide the cut off for each entrance exam through careful deliberation and consideration of syllabus, schedules and previous year papers. The cutoff list is published online, soon after the SRMJEEE results declaration. Each student must meet the cut off to qualify for the merit list. The cut off differs each year by a slight margin, making it easier for students to set a certain goal for each entrance test.

  • Cutoff picks out the top scorers, worthy of admission into SRMIST, from a huge pool of candidates.
  • The cutoff list is affiliated with the admission board and represents the college’s bottom line for admission.
  • The cutoff list is different for general and SC/ST categories and the distinction is tabulated by the examination authorities of SRM.
