The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam, has announced the first round of online counselling for admission into 50% Post Graduate seats in government medical colleges of Assam and Dr. B. Borooah Cancer Institute (BBCI), Guwahati, will be conducted as per the Medical Colleges of Assam (Regulation of Admission into Post Graduate Degree and Diploma Courses) Rules, 2021 (Amendments up to date).

Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must have appeared in NEET PG 2024 conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE).
- They must meet the NEET PG 2024 cut-off percentiles.
- Their name and NEET PG Roll Number must appear in the Revised Merit List published by DME.

Key Instructions for Candidates
- Online Registration: Candidates must register on the official portal from November 18–20, 2024.
- Choice Filling: Online choice filling will be available from November 21–23, 2024, with an option to lock choices on November 23 between 4:00 PM and 11:55 PM. Unlocked choices will be automatically locked after the deadline.
- Seat Allotment and Results: The seat allotment process will occur from November 24–25, 2024, and results will be published on November 26, 2024.
- Document Verification: Provisionally selected candidates must report for document verification at the DME Office, Sixmile, Guwahati, on November 28–29, 2024.
- Reporting to Institutions: Final admission to allotted institutions is scheduled for December 3–4, 2024.
