National Institute of Technology, Goa is inviting applications for admission to PhD programmes (Full-Time(with scholarship)/Part-Time/Self-Financed/Sponsored) for the academic year 2024-25 December session. The application fee is INR 500 per Department for Gen/OBC(NCL)/EWS applicants and INR 300 per Department for SC/ST/PwD applicants. The last Date for submission of the Online application is 15 December 2024 up to 5 pm. NIT Goa is offering admission to 7 departments.

NIT Goa PhD Admission Eligibility

To be eligible for PhD admission, candidates must meet the following requirements:-

  • PhD in Engineering and Technology: Master's degree in relevant discipline with 6.5 CGPA or 60% marks (55% for SC/ST). Exceptional B.Tech/B.E. holders with a CGPA >= 9.0 are also eligible.
  • PhD in Applied Sciences: Master's degree in relevant area with 6.5 CGPA or 60% marks (55% for SC/ST).
  • PhD in Humanities & Social Sciences: Master's degree with 6.0 CGPA or 55% marks (50% for SC/ST).

NIT Goa PhD Selection Procedure

The following steps will be used to select candidates:-

  • Admission to PhD program will be based on overall academic performance, written tests, and personal interviews.
  • Candidates shortlisted in the written test will be called for a personal interview.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be announced on the Institute website.
  • Selected candidates must deposit the requisite fee and produce original documents at the time of admission.

  • Recent passport-size photograph
  • GATE/UGC/CSIR/NBHM/NET qualified certificate (for full-time with scholarship)
  • Master's degree/provisional certificate
  • Undergraduate degree certificate and marks sheet
  • Matriculation/X class certificate as proof of age
  • Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS), if applicable
  • Undertaking on OBC-NCL status
  • Certificate for Persons with Disabilities (PwD), if applicable
  • No Objection Certificate (NOC) from employer/industry
  • Sponsorship letter for sponsored PhD program
