Jadavpur University is inviting applications for PhD courses for the session 2024-25. The application fee is INR 500. The last date for submission of the application form is Dec 13, 2024, up to 04:00 p.m. Jadavpur University will conduct a written test for admission, candidates who have qualified for NET/SET/GATE will be exempted from appearing for the exam.

Jadavpur University PhD Eligibility

To be eligible for admission, candidates must meet the following requirements:-

  • Master's degree or equivalent in the relevant discipline with at least 55% marks in aggregate.
  • Candidates with a 2-year M.Phil. degree or equivalent are also eligible.
  • Relaxation of 5% marks is allowed for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS), and other categories.
  • Candidates who have qualified for Fellowship/Scholarship and/or for Assistant Professor/admission to a PhD programme only in the UGC-NET/CSIR-NET/ GATE/GPAT/ CEED or similar other National level tests are also eligible.

Jadavpur University PhD Application Process

  • Apply online using the prescribed format available on the Jadavpur University website ((link unavailable)).
  • Pay the application fee of Rs. 500/- per subject online through SBI Collect System.
  • Submit the downloaded application form along with the payment receipt and required testimonials to the Ph.D. Cell office by 13.12.2024 (up to 04:00 p.m.).
  • Note that incomplete/incorrect applications and those received after the due date will be rejected.

  • Candidates are requested to bring the following documents:-
  • A recent passport-sized photograph.
  • Attested copies of mark sheets, certificates, and proof of age (Madhyamik admit card/certificate).
  • Relevant certificates for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PD/EWS, if applicable.
  • NET/SET/GATE certificate, if applicable.
  • Online payment receipt from SBI server.
  • Copy of Aadhar Card.
