The University of Calcutta invites applications for its M. Music course (2024-25), offering specializations in Hindusthani, Rabindra Sangit, and Bengali Songs. Interested candidates can apply till November 11, 2024, by 2 pm.

Application fee is INR 200 for General and INR 100 for SC/ST/PWD. A total of 91 seats are available.

CU Eligibility Criteria For M. Music Course

Candidates must have completed:-

  • B.Mus. Hons. or
  • B.A./B.Sc./B.ComHons. with Music a GE Subject or
  • B.Mus. without Hons.
  • B.A./B.Sc./B.Com without Hons. with Music as one of the Subject.
  • B.A./B.Sc./B.Com Hons. without Music as GE Subject.
  • All the candidates must have at least 55% of marks in Hons./Graduation.
  • All the candidates should passed graduation level degree in the year 2024 or 2023.

CU M.Music Course Merit List & Selection Criteria

Merit List

  • Merit list of candidates with B.Mus. Hons. from University of Calcutta will be prepared by the Marks obtained in B.Mus. Hons. subject.
  • Merit list of all other candidates and all Non-CU candidates will be made through an Entrance Test to be conducted by the department.

SelectionCriteria

  • Selection will be made strictly on the basis of merit subject to availability of seat.
  • B.Mus. Hons. candidates will be given preference in both PART-A (C.U. Graduate) and PART-B (NON C.U. Graduate).

CU M.Music Course Total Seats

  • Total Seats available are 91 (UR-40+SC-21+ST-5+OBCA-9+OBCB-7+EWS-9)
  • Candidates graduated from University of Calcutta will be considered in PART- A (80% of total seats).
  • Candidates graduated from the University / institute other than University of Calcutta will be considered in PART- B (20% of total seats).
  • For PWD Candidates 5% Seats are reserved category wise horizontally.
