The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 Shift 2 on February 2, 2025  for EE has ended. Shift 1 exam is from 9.30 AM to 12.30 PM for ME, PE, AR paper has ended. Based on the initial reaction of candidates, the paper was moderate to tough. 

 The difficulty levels for GATE 2025 February 2, Shift 1were-

  •  ME- (Easy to Moderate) The general Aptitude section was easy. The weightage of Fluid mechanics increased and less questions were asked from Heat Transfer this year.  The cut offs are expected to go higher as 50- 55 questions were doable.

  • PE –(Moderate ) Questions were  conceptual and numerical in core petroleum pass. High weightage topics focused more on intense math and physics coursework. 

  •  AR – (Moderate)The general Aptitude section was easy while Maths and Technical took more time to solve. High weightage topics included- architectural design, and construction techniques. 

The difficulty level for GATE 2025 February 2, Shift 2:

 Electrical Engineering( EE) - Moderate, Overall the exam was balanced. There was no significant change in the weightage of core and non core topics as compared to last year. Core subjects like Signal System and Electrical Machine had the most number of questions. The General Aptitude Section was easy. 

GATE 2025 Feb 2 Live Updates

The next GATE 2025 exam will be conducted on 15th and 16th February 2025 in two shifts every day across multiple centres all over the nation. Candidates must arrive at the exam center at least 90 minutes before the commencement of the exam, a valid photo ID, and GATE 2025 hall ticket.

GATE 2025 Negative Marking Scheme

As per the GATE 2025 exam pattern, the marking scheme includes negative marking for MCQs as follows:

  • 1-mark MCQs: For an incorrect answer, 1/3 mark will be deducted.
  • 2-mark MCQs: For an incorrect answer, 2/3 mark will be deducted.
  • Multiple-Select Questions: No negative marking.
  • Numerical Answer Type Questions: No negative marking.

GATE 2025 Exam Day Instructions

Candidates are advised to note the following GATE 2025 exam day instructions:

Carry Documents

  • GATE 2025 Admit Card with print on an A4-size, single-sided paper.
  • Valid Photo ID: Aadhaar, Passport, PAN card, Voter ID, or any government-issued ID.
  • Recent Passport Size Photograph: Same as uploaded while filling registration.

Allowed Items

  • Black or Blue Pen
  • Transparent water bottle
  • Mask and pocket-sized hand sanitizer

Items Not Allowed

  • Electronic Devices: Smartphone, smartwatches, or calculator
  • Books or study materials, or notes.
  • Wallets, purses, metallic items, or jewelry
