According to official information published on IIT website, gate2026.iitr.ac.in, the GATE Admit Card 2026 will be released on January 2026. IIT will conduct the GATE 2026 exams on February 2026. The admit card for GATE exam is only accessible on the official website and can’t be downloaded from any external website/source. Follow the steps given below to download GATE admit card 2026.

What If I Lost My Enrollment ID/ Password?
Candidates who lost their enrollment ID and password can easily retrieve them by following the steps given below.
Steps To Retrieve Enrollment ID
- Go to the GOAPS Candidate login page and click on “Forgot Enrollment”.
- The website will ask you to fill in your registered mobile number or email.
- An OTP verification will be done to check the credibility of your mobile number/email.
- Then, the enrollment number will be sent to your registered mobile number or email.
Steps To Retrieve Password
- Go to the GOAPS candidate's login page and click on “Forgot Password”.
- The website will require a registered mobile number/email.
- An OTP verification will be done to check the credibility of the provided details.
- Next, a link to change the password will be sent to the registered mobile number/email.
- Candidates need to fill in a new password twice and save the changed password.
Note - Candidates should avoid changing the password multiple times.

Guidelines For GATE 2026 Exam Day

What Are The Facilities For Candidates With Scribe?
The facility scribe is meant for only those PwD candidates with benchmark disability (not less than 40% disability) and who have physical limitations to write, including speed.
Candidates can read the details related to scribes below.
- The facility of scribe will be allowed after providing the certificate that the person concerned has physical limitations to write.
- In the case of a person with a benchmark disability (not less than 40% disability) in the categories of blindness, locomotor disability (both arms affected-BA), and cerebral palsy, the facility of a scribe shall be allowed on advance request only.
- Dyslexic candidates can avail of the services of the scribe, provided they submit a dyslexic certificate issued by the competent authorities.
Facility For Students With Less Than 40% Disability
- Candidates having less than 40% disability and having difficulty in writing are required to send an email seeking compensatory time/Scribe Assistance to pwd.gate@iitr.ac.in.
- The subject of the email should be “Compensatory Time/Scribe Assistance under section 2(s)”.
- Candidates must mention their Name, enrollment ID and mobile number.

Ans. No, personal calculators are not allowed. However, a virtual scientific calculator will be available on the computer screen during the exam.

Ans. No, candidates are not allowed to take rough sheets and pens inside the examination hall. However, a pen and scribble pad is provided by the authorities at the exam centres.
