According to official information published on IIT website, gate2026.iitr.ac.in, the GATE Admit Card 2026 will be released on January 2026. IIT will conduct the GATE 2026 exams on February 2026. Admit cards for the same will be released on the official website gate2026.iitr.ac.in. The facility scribe is meant for only those PwD candidates with benchmark disability (not less than 40% disability) and who have physical limitations to write, including speed.

Ans. No, personal calculators are not allowed. However, a virtual scientific calculator will be available on the computer screen during the exam.

Ans. No, candidates are not allowed to take rough sheets and pens inside the examination hall. However, a pen and scribble pad is provided by the authorities at the exam centres.
Ques. Can candidates carry soft copies of the GATE hall ticket to the exam centre?
Ans. No, you will not be allowed to carry soft copies of your admit card or ID proof to the exam centre. You have to carry a hard copy, preferably a coloured print, of the admit card and your original photo ID.
Ques. Would I be allowed to enter the exam centre if my name on the GATE exam hall ticket and the Identity card differs slightly?
Ans. No, you won’t be allowed to enter the exam centre as you are only allowed to carry the original and valid photo identification proof, whose details you have entered while filling out the application form.
Ques. Can we do rough work on the GATE hall ticket?
Ans. No, you cannot do rough work on the admit card. However, the exam centre will provide you with scribble pads for rough work but it is mandatory to return the scribble pad after the exam is completed and before leaving the exam hall. Before using the scribble pad, all candidates must write their name and registration number on it.

Ans. No, candidates are only allowed to take a coloured printout of the admit card on an A4-sized sheet to their exam centre.

Ans. No, candidates should avoid wearing pyjamas, jeans, or trousers with pockets. Accessories like sunglasses, bandanas, bracelets, necklaces, or multiple rings should also be avoided.
