Over time, there has been significant growth in the number of students taking the GATE in civil engineering (CE). This is because all PSUs now hiring candidates through GATE. While some students are trying to land jobs in PSUs like IOCL, HPCL, RITES, EIL, NHAI, DMRC, etc.

Ans. Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions will comprise most of the GATE CE 2026 exam. MCQs carry 1 or 2 marks in every section. Each question will have four options, but there will be only one correct answer.
