GATE 2027 Important Dates

Applications take place in 2026 for the examination held in 2027. The dates above use the revised deadlines rather than the earlier registration dates that remain crossed out in the official schedule.

Registration and Correction Deadlines

The regular registration period ended on 5 October 2026. Applicants submitting during the extended period must complete the GATE 2027 application process with the applicable late fee by 12 October 2026. A saved draft without the required submission and payment does not have the same status as a successfully submitted application.

Paper, city and category changes are handled in the correction process and may require additional payment. A new enrolment ID is not the way to add a second paper. Where a zone sends a document-defect message, follow the instructions and deadline in that message.

Exam Dates and Session Timings

These are the examination dates and session timings, not a branch-wise allotment table. Your paper and assigned session determine which slot you attend. The admit card is the relevant document for your own examination assignment.

The six-date calendar does not mean that every candidate takes six tests. Candidates can apply for one paper or a permitted pair. The GATE 2027 paper-wise syllabus lists the paper choices and section structure, while the GATE preparation plan covers subject study and full-paper practice.

City Notification and Admit Card

City allotment is scheduled for 4 January 2027. Do not read this as the admit-card release date. The official schedule lists admit-card download separately and has not assigned it a date.

The admit card must be downloaded online and printed. It is not sent by post or as an email attachment. Before booking travel to a particular venue, distinguish the city notification from the detailed centre address on your admit card.

Answer Key, Result and Scorecard

The result is scheduled for 19 March 2027. Response-sheet release, answer-key publication and the challenge window do not yet have dates in the current main schedule. They should not be assigned a fixed number of days after the examination.

The scorecard download period and score validity are different. A GATE 2027 score is valid for three years from the result announcement, even though the portal's later paid-download facility ends during 2027. Save the scorecard file once it becomes available.
