GATE Application Fee 2026: GATE 2026 Registration  will start on August 25, 2025, on the official website of IIT Guwahati. GATE 2026 Application Form last date is October 06, 2025. Candidates who fail to register for GATE 2026 before the last date, can fill out the GATE Application Form by paying late fees.This year GATE Application Fee has been increased. The increased application fees for various categories are given below:

  • SC/ ST/ PwD/ Female- INR 1000
  • Others including Foreign Nationals - INR 2000

Candidates must pay the GATE application fee for the successful acceptance of their application form. The application fees can be paid through online banking, debit card, credit card, or E-challan.

GATE 2026 Application Fee

GATE 2026 Registration started on August 25, 2025. Candidates can fill out the GATE Application Form till September 25, 2025, without any late fees.

The table below shows the category-wise GATE Application Fee 2026:

How to Pay GATE 2026 Application Fee?

GATE Application Fee payment is a crucial step while filling out the GATE Application Form. If any candidate fails to pay the GATE Application fee their registration will stand cancelled. Given below are the steps to pay the GATE Application Fee 2026:

  • After the candidate has successfully submitted the GATE 2026 application form on the GOAPS portal they will be redirected to the payment page.
  • On the payment gateway page, the candidate is required to choose the Bank and mode of payment. GATE Application Fee can be paid through the following modes:
    • Internet Banking
    • Debit Card
    • Credit Card
    • E-challan
  • After selecting any one of the above payment modes, the candidate will be required to fill in the payment details and click on the ‘Pay’ option.
  • On successful payment, the candidate will be redirected to the application page.
  • Candidates can download the application receipt and keep it safe for future reference. 

In case of Payment Glitches

If the candidate is not able to see their payment status, they can log in to the GOAPS portal and check their GATE application fee payment status.

  • If the amount has been deducted from the candidate’s account but not acknowledged by GOAPS portal, the deducted amount will be refunded in the candidate’s account.
  • In such a scenario, candidate must generate another payment to complete their GATE 2026 Registration.

GATE 2026 Application Late Fee

GATE 2026 Registration last date is September 25, 2025. If any candidate cannot submit the GATE application within this date they can fill in the form by paying the late fees from September 26- October, 06, 2025.  The table below shows the category-wise GATE Application late fee details:

GATE 2026 Application Correction Fee

The authorities provide candidates with an opportunity for GATE Application form correction, in case any candidate has filled in any wrong information in their form. The GATE Application correction window will be activated from November 07 - 11, 2025. The table below shows the fee amount to be paid for GATE application form correction 2026:
