GATE 2027 Application Fee

Regular registration closed on 5 October 2026. The late-registration deadline is 12 October 2026. Foreign nationals pay the full application fee. For Indian applicants, the concession applies to female, SC, ST and PwD applicants; OBC-NCL or EWS status alone does not put a candidate in the lower-fee group.

Two-paper Late Fee: Published Difference

The GATE 2027 fee webpage lists late-period two-paper totals of INR 2,500 and INR 4,500 for the two category groups. The brochure describes the late fee per paper, which gives INR 3,000 and INR 5,000 when doubled. These published figures conflict. For a two-paper late application, check the amount shown in GOAPS before authorising payment; do not assume that doubling the one-paper total is correct.

The discrepancy concerns the late-period two-paper total. It does not change the matching regular-period totals in the table. The fee charged in the live account has not been tested through a payment.

How to Pay the Application Fee

• Complete the form in the existing GOAPS account.
• Confirm the selected paper or approved pair and category.
• Review the total, including any bank processing charge.
• Pay through the online options offered by the portal.
• Check that GOAPS records payment and retain the acknowledgement.

Form Correction Charges

Paper, city or category changes can require an additional payment. The full 2027 correction-charge list is not yet published. Do not use an older INR 500 figure as the price for every correction. The correction window runs from 14 to 21 October 2026.
