The GATE 2026 Provisional Answer Key will be released by IIT Roorkee. You will be able to access GATE Answer Key 2026 on the official website by entering your enrollment ID and Password. The GATE answer key 2026 consists of answers to all 30 papers of GATE 2026.

You can raise a challenge against the GATE Answer Key in case there is an error. Use your login credentials: enrollment ID/ email and password to challenge the GATE provisional answer key through the GOAPS portal – goaps.iitr.ac.in. You must pay a non-refundable amount of Rs 500 for every objection.

If your objections are deemed correct by the authorities, the final GATE answer key will be modified before the GATE Result 2026 is announced. GATE 2026 Final Answer Key may be out by March 2026, along with the result and scorecard.

GATE Answer Key 2026 - How to Calculate Score?

To calculate your score using GATE answer key, you can follow the below mentioned steps:

1. Type MCQ : 1 mark

• Count the number of correct answers
• Count the number of incorrect answers
• Total = 1 x (number of correct answers) - 1/2 x (number of incorrect answers)

2. Type MCQ : 2 marks

• Count the number of correct answers
• Count the number of incorrect answers
• Total = 2 x (number of correct answers) - 2/3 x (number of incorrect answers)

3. Type NAT (Numerical Answer Type)

• Total = 1 x (number of correct answers) + 2 x (number of incorrect answers)
• Note: There is no negative marking in NAT

4. Add up all the Total’s to find your final score

Sometimes the answers released in the answer key may have discrepencies. In such a case, you can choose to raise an objection against the released GATE answer key. You need to make the answer key challenge between February 26 to February 28, 2026. Refer to points mentioned below to challenge GATE Answer Key 2026:

1. You have to visit GOAPS official website
2. Find and click on ‘contest answer key’
3. You will be redirected to payment gateway
4. Pay INR 500 for every challenge you want to raise. NRI candidates will have to pay $10 per objection.
5. Upon successful payment, you have to enter the question number you want to challenge.
6. You will have to provide an explanation in maximum 500 words for the objection raised.
7. Attach the necessary documents in the asked format before submitting the objection (mention the section name and question number).

Note: The question number you’ll mention should be from the official question paper released by the authority.
