IIT Roorkee has released the GATE 2026 syllabus of Mining Engineering on the GATE Official Website. The overall syllabus has not introduced any new section or has removed any from the earlier syllabus. The GATE 2026 Mining Engineering paper will comprise 15 questions from General Aptitude and 85 questions from Mining Engineering and Engineering Mathematics, amounting to a total of 100 marks.

  • Students appearing for Mining Engineering (MN) paper, can also appear in Geomatics Engineering (GE) and Geology & Geophysics (GG).
  • Candidates who are appearing for MN as their first paper can only choose GG or XE as the second paper in GATE 2026.

What is the Gate Mining Engineering Exam Pattern?

The GATE Mining Engineering 2026 exam is conducted in an online (CBT) mode, with a total duration of 3 hours. The paper consists of three main sections: General Aptitude, Mathematics, and Subject-Based questions. A total of 65 questions are included in the exam, with a maximum score of 100 marks. Negative marking is applicable only for MCQ-type. questions.

What is a Good Score in the GATE Mining Engineering Exam?
