GATE 2027 requires six exam-city choices from the same zone. City allotment is scheduled for 4 January 2027. The directory below includes every city group in the current official list; the exact venue appears on the admit card.

City Change Conditions

- Use the correction facility during the notified window.
- Review the applicable charge before payment.
- Check the updated application after submission.
- Do not expect a city or centre change after the admit card is issued.
Taking GATE from Outside India
−
There is no overseas centre in GATE 2027. Select six Indian cities within one zone.
A foreign candidate's passport or other accepted government photo ID must match the application details. The exam-city notice does not replace the admit card.

Questions and Exceptions
Can I choose cities from two different zones?+
No. All six preferences must be from the same zone. Check the coordinating-institute grouping rather than choosing cities solely by state.
Does the first preference guarantee my centre?+
No. GATE can allot a different city, including one outside the preferences. The city list itself is tentative.
Is the city allotment notice my admit card?+
No. A city notice identifies the city, not the complete venue and reporting instructions. You still need the admit card.
Can I take GATE 2027 abroad?+
No. The 2027 examination centres are in India. International candidates must travel to their allotted Indian centre.
