GATE response sheet 2026 will be available for download on the official website. Once released, you can download your GATE response sheet pdf at goaps.iitg.ac.in.
- You can expect GATE response sheet 2026 to be released in the last week of February 2026.
- Along with the GATE response sheet, IIT Guwahati will release GATE answer key 2026.
- GATE response sheet and answer key challenge will be available for 3 days.
Once all the challenges against GATE provisional answer key are examined and resolved, IIT Guwahati will release the final answer key. GATE Result 2026 is scheduled to be released on 19 March 2026.

User “CaptainHawk786” on Reddit in a post in “GATEtard” wanted to know the expected date for the release of GATE response sheet and answer key.
Last year, GATE answer key was released on 27 February 2026, with GATE result released on 19 March 2025. This year, the GATE result is scheduled for 19 March 2026. Based on these dates, GATE response sheet and answer key is likely to be released on 28 February 2026.

GATE Response Sheet Download
You can download your GATE response sheet by visiting the official GOAPS portal at goaps.iitg.ac.in.
- On the GATE 2026 official website, click on GATE response sheet link.
- You will be redirected to GOAPS portal where you must login using your enrollment ID and password.
- Once you click on the Login tab, your GATE response sheet will be displayed on the screen.
- You can take a printout of the response sheet for future reference.
GATE Answer Key
Along with the GATE response sheet, your GATE answer keys for each paper will be released on the official website. You can challenge the GATE provisional answer key withing the prescribed time.
- To challenge GATE answer key, you must pay fee prescribed by the concerned authority.
- GATE scores will be announced once the evaluation is finalized.

GATE Score Calculation
GATE 2026 scores are calculated using the GATE marking scheme prescribed by IIT Guwahati and the normalization process. Score calculation for GATE includes the steps listed below.
GATE Raw Marks Calculation
Raw marks in GATE 2026 are calculated using the GATE marking scheme.
- For each correct answer, you will get +1 or +2 marks.
- For each 1 mark incorrect response, 1/3 marks will be deducted form overall score.
- For each 2 mark incorrect response, 2/3 marks will be deducted form overall score.
- Negative marking is not applicable for incorrect MSQs and NAT questions.
Calculation of Normalized Marks in GATE 2026
Because of varying difficulty levels in different GATE shifts, a normalization process is applied. Normalization process ensures fairness across shifts with varying difficulty levels. GATE normalization formula is mentioned in the image below.

GATE result and score card are released once the challenges against GATE answer key are examined. IIT Guwahati will release the GATE result on the official website of GOAPS at goaps.iitg.ac.in.
- Only qualified candidates can download their GATE scorecard.
