The Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, will commence the admission process for its B.Tech and BS (Research) programs on May 1, 2025. Admissions for the 2025-26 academic year will be open for B.Tech in Mathematics and Computing and the Four-Year BS (Research) programs.

Eligibility Criteria For IISc Bangalore UG Admission 2025

To be eligible for admission at IISc Bangalore, the candidates must fulfil the following criteria:-

B.Tech in Mathematics & Computing Eligibility

• Candidates must have appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in 2023, 2024, or 2025.
• Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics must be compulsory subjects in the first appearance.
• Candidates must secure at least 75% aggregate marks in the Class XII Board examination (65% for SC, ST, and PwD candidates).
• Alternatively, candidates must be within the category-wise top 20 percentile of successful candidates in their Class XII board examination.

Four-Year BS (Research) Eligibility

• Candidates must have completed their 10+2 (or equivalent) examination in 2023, or 2024, or are expecting to complete their examination in 2025.
• Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics must be the main subjects in their qualifying exam.
• Candidates must secure a first-class or 60% or equivalent grade in the qualifying examination (relaxed to pass class for SC/ST candidates).

Students in the Four-Year BS (Research) program are eligible for scholarships from INSPIRE/IISc and other Indian & multinational agencies.
