- The infrastructure is really nice and it looks amazing
- We have many beautiful spots to spend our free time
Dislikes
- Few faculty members who will just give you notes and nothing else
- Not related with the college but the place where it is, in summer it gets really hot sometimes
Remarks :
I chose this university because it is well known not only in Assam but in every Northeastern state. It also got a B+ by Naac which increases the chances of getting any placements in future. There were no interviews or tests for the admission. The admission process is really easy and simple. You just need to prepare all your documents and they will help you with your admission
Course Curriculum Overview :
All the facilities here are either PhD holders or master's degree holders with many years of experience. All though you might not like many of the faculty teaching styles. Few teachers put their all into teaching the students so aside learning from I don't like the teaching of other faculty who will just make you take notes without any info about the topic. So I prefer to prepare for my exam on my own.
Internships Opportunities :
I did an internship in a diagnostic centre near my House. But I didn't get any stipend, it was an unpaid internship. the main purpose of this internship was to gain practical knowledge of everyday laboratory life.
Placement Experience :
Since I am still in my 2nd year I am not sure of the placement opportunities but what I know is that most of our seniors are pursuing their master's after graduation from the University. However, according to the university, it has an average of 3-4 LPA placements.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The per semester fee for BMLT is 30k, so it will be 60k per year. And we have 8 semesters so in total the college fees is 2 lakh 40 thousand. At the time of registration, you will need to pay a registration fee. And for a hostel, the fee varies according to the type of room you want. 2 seaters, 3 seaters, 4 seaters. The hostel fee is 45 thousand per semester for 4 seaters.
Campus Life :
We have regular events on festivals, like Diwali l, Durga Puja, Holi, and independence day. With lots of competition and great performances by artists of the university like dance and singing. Aside from these small events we also have 2 major fests which are conducted once in 2-3, years where many Bollywood celebs are called on for performance.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel is well maintained but not that hygienic, especially the boy's hostel. I would say it is better than any other hostel of other colleges but you will find many gutka stains and dirt on the hostel walls made by the students. And other than that there is a proper washroom with a western style toilet. And proper security.

Good-moderate faculty but maintenance of every other thing is very much not on time The authority doesn’t seem to be concerned about the students and delays every work and at the last moment you will be running around .

Dream Campus, Not-So-Dream Jobs

There are teachers under which u can work and later they can surely help u land a intership, happened with one of my friend. But as of now department dont directly provide u internship. I dont wanna say vague or old numbers about average or highest placement data, so wont comment on it but overall its not that great but there are exceptions, like there are some brilliant minds who lands an enormous off campus placement.(My 2 seniors who r out of india right now) Last year Bharat electronics BHEL came and took 8 seniors for 13lpa package, some banking companies and TCs comes too. My life in B.Borooah College as a science student
Placement Experience :
Placements At B. Borooah College for a BSc Forget it. There's no placement scene like you hear about. No companies come for recruitment drives. The so-called placement cell just puts up notices for government job ads or maybe a local pharmacy needing a helper. I've never seen a single big name visit campus to hire BSc grads. So there's no list of recruiters, no number of offers, and definitely no talk of high packages. Zero students get placed from here in that way. The plan after the degree is everything. For me, it's going for an MSc. For others, it's preparing for government exams, doing B.Ed., or applying to labs and hospitals directly. This college gives you the valid degree, the ticket to sit for other exams or apply further. It doesn't get you a job. It makes you eligible to go find one yourself. Your future is 100% in your own hands after you walk out.

There are 100% internship in Bsc agriculture are also good the average packages 3 to 4 LPA the highest package is 12 LPA percentage of students getting placements are about 70 - 80% the eligibility criteria depends upon the performance of the student on its practical work and its CGPA

The ratio of placement and job is very poor, this is a college of general degree course, so after passing B.Sc., B.Sc. one does not get a job directly, in future one has to do Masters degree, PhD.But data from the last three/four year revealed that students did get jobs in SBI and some other organization, but the percentage was very low.That is why most of the students after completing normal graduation take admission in courses like Masters and BEd, Deled.And my plan in future is to do Masters from IIT or IISER, after that I want to do PhD.

Life as a BTech Student at IIT guwahati
Placement Experience :
there is a CPI criteria of around 6 to sit for placements. The highest packages for bachelors can go up to 1.5cr. Companies in coding include Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Ola, Uber, finance companies like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and many more. Highest paying companies are AlphaGrep, Quadeye, JaneStreet but that is very competitive with only people with the best results and from CS getting in. Many people also receive preplacement offers after internships. There are also many companies that visit for product management roles like Ola, Meesho etc. The placement process for Design students is separate. There are also core companies like Texas instruments, that visit.

I choose this course because I am interested in learning coding and I want to seek my future in this line. I am finding some difficulties in understanding the subjects and topics but I believe it is because I am new to this field and new to everything.
