- I love the structure and the sports facilities in th college campus of salesian college . The most admirable thing and every one loves about salesian college I that the teachers or the faculty members are like your friends and family members as they are very close and students friendly and very much loving.
- The great thing in salesian college is that you won't get bored at all in the college it self even if the classes get hectic as the compound is huge and there are lots of things you can do inside the college to get rid of stress and tensions like playing football , volleyball, cricket , roam around the college , okay table tennis in the time of recess break and lunch break ..
Dislikes
- The thing I hate the most about salesian college is that it is a very strict college and we have to follow each and every code and conduct mentioned in the hand book or the diary of the college or else there are consequences and action is taken against the students .
- Another thing I hate about salesian college is that it is very strict in the entry time of the student in the Morning hours as the college starts at 8:30 and no one is allowed to enter the college after 8:30 and the rule is such that the student has to reach the college before 8:30 and even if the student has arrived on 8:32 or 8:45 he/she is not allowed to enter the college and can only be allowed to enter after 10:30 but has to wait from 8:30 to 10:30 right outside the college gate or else he/she is not allowed to enter and lastly once the student is inside the college campus he/she is never allowed to leave the college campus untill the whole schedule of classes are over for the day and the class start at :830 and end at 2:40 and the student is not allowed to leave the college campus untill 2:40.
Remarks :
Things that made me choose the college was that at the time when i joined the college it was regarded as one of the best colleges in the Darjeeling district and it was considered to be a college with one of the best education system. Some other reasons were that the college was very huge and comprised of all sorts of modern facilities. The most best reason for me joining salesian college was that sports in salesian college was taken very serious and things like training a play to reach their full potential was the priority of the sports faculty members and the sports association, as sports was a very important factor in college as the students of salesian excelled in all kinds of sports that was available there and for bonus I got to meet lots of beautiful girls in the college and befriend them easily as I studied about sociology or how the society and the people in it communicate with one another and I was socially very active so it was very easy for me to interact with people .
Course Curriculum Overview :
I took up the course as I had taken up humanities since class 9-0 ICSE and had the subject social science as a side subject and even from class 11-12 I had taken up humanities with the major subject being sociology. As I took up sociology as a major subject in CISE board and found it very easy to understand the subject and write upon to score best Marks I could in the exams that I attended as I had been studying social since since i was an ittle kid and it was very easy than other Hons subject like political science, history, geography as the syllabus of these subjects were very tough and had to mug up the lessons and chapters of the syllabus to write well in the exams but in sociology there was nothing to mug up except for the founders of sociology and the dates for the events that led to the discovery of sociology and many other subjects related to sociology and was the reason I took up sociology, the exams were held for every semesters and were the internal and external exams.
Internships Opportunities :
No I have not opted for intership as I will only apply for one as soon as I finish my degree of masters. As I am very for a job right now and I need to graduate first and score good marks so I can get better colleges to study furthermore and compete my master's.
Placement Experience :
After completing my college i plan to go abroad and work on for an NGO or open one myself that will tend to others when I need of help . Or if that doesn't work I'll try my best to complete my Masters in sociology Hons and will try to have a job as a political social councellor. Or even if I don't even get that job I would rather take up a profession as a teacher of sociology or a professor in sociology after i complete my Masters.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
In salesian college the fee structure is that we have to pay 25,000 for the each of the first 2 semesters. Semester 1 and semester 2 the we pay 24,000 for each of the 4th and 5th semester and lastly we pay 2,2300 for each of the 5th and 6th semester and the total amount we pay until graduation is 1,42,600 . My tution fee a month is 10000 so yearly it's 1,20,000 . The fee structure for all the honours is the same and only for the general it's 15000 per semester. There is no particular scholarships in our college as it is a private college and is run by father's and sisters as it is a Christian College . The admission fees at the start was 25000 and there are no labs for sociology honours but only for science course and I am a sociology honours student so we don't have to pay the lab fees and the caution fees or the security deposit was sf 50000 that will be returned after graduation of the student . Development fees and other fees are included in overall package of the fees structure.
Campus Life :
Life at salesian college campus is very great as it is a huge college and so the events that are held there are always a grand on.There are many fest held in the college and every month there is one fest held about one thing or the other but the main fest which is the exsurge and innovision is held on the month of August and November and event for competition in which most of the colleges in Darjeeling district come to participate in all kinds of competitions like singing dancing etc .The college library's is very huge and vast which consists of 2 floors only for books and a place to sit down and read those books . You will find all of the books that the world has seen . There is a lotbof emphasis give to sports and computer skills in college as thereare lots of websites made by the students and even radio salesian run by the students and the vice principal.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure

Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.

There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
