Their is nothing specific bad aspect of the college as the college is managed very well. Faculties are very experienced of this college and very supportive. After higher secondary a student applies for a course suitable to them .college shortlist the student and invites them to take admission
Course Curriculum Overview :
After higher secondary in commerce stream I decided to stay in finance line that's why I chose this course . The college is very populer in South Kolkata. The college takes mock exams periodically and the levels of the exams are quite same to university level.
Placement Experience :
Placements are good compared to other colleges offering B.com. Myself was placed in TCS after completing graduation with my 4 to 5 batchmates.Other companies also hire from HCC this college has very strong alumni network
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The college fees is very affordable around rs 8000 per year along with extra 600 per year for university examination.the college is very flexible regarding fees . Also their is concession available for needy students.
Campus Life :
The college campus is built in a large area and built in vintage style . Although the college area is very large but maximum of the area occupied by building ; college has a very small playground where fests are organised their was also a cheap canteen and cheap store. also college has a common room for playing indoor games

Placements are not being offered from our college solely. But internship is being offered in the last 6 months mandatory for the completion of the four year course. The placement thing is solely on you like how capable are you to get into one hospital. But this college has nothing to do with it.

One should not be have any backlogs to sit for campus placements and should keep a decent GPA as many companies puts a cut off GPA. Placements are very decent and almost 70 percentage gets placed many of the others gets into higher studies

Cognizant - 12 , TCS - 4, Bavistech - 8, Utah Tech Labs - 15. Highest - 9 LPA , Average - 3.5 LPA Around 30% student got placed. I got placed and after getting degree i will join that compnay.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
