Well I got this collection through my CSAB counselling of JEE mains, I got 91 percentile but as far as I know if you're from general category, you could get a lower branch for as low as 80 percentile and for SC/ST categories this number is around 60, you could also apply for spot councelling after JOSSA and CSAB, as for me I had other options too but I wanted to pursue IT, the fees was very affordable and Bilaspur is also a cost friendly city and just outside the city you have a lot of great landscapes as the city is surrounded by hills and forests, wildlife sanctuary, trekking hills, water falls, etc. As far as the cons, the college isn't very well developed yet but the work is in progress, the campus is quite big with even 2 small and one big lake in it with wildlife within the campus, our technology department lacks professors with latest insights as they are teaching the same curriculum as of 2000s.
I choose IT cause it had both the insight of hardware and workings of a software, my subjects included, DBMS, DLAT, Compiler Design, OOPS, DSA, Microprocessors, Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Python, C, C++, and some general subjects like physics, Industry safety, Mathematics I,II and III. The faculty is not much updated though and held some orthodox views and aren't ready to accept change, the classrooms are also pretty basic and smart classrooms are rare, we rarely went to lab and even if we did their was zero to none learning in it. Many of the professors are on temporary recruitment from locality or are quota based who has almost zero knowledge and a stone attitude. There were 3 exams in total per semester, 2 class test and one end semester examination, the class tests were pretty basic covering only a unit or so while the end sem covered the whole syllabus. Teachers had their favourite students whom scores high marks In their respective subjects.
No I didn't, actually I was the lucky one as I was the one of only three people in my batch that got placed. No one was allowed for internships as the college administration won't allow them to pursue a 3 month internship without attending college. We did projects in our last few semesters but they were almost of no use as everyone copy pasted from GITHUB and gave a shitty presentation for which the professors clapped hard.
There was no definite criteria for placement. Planetspark, and some local recruiters. About 4-7 offers were made that too in non technical domain, all the companies that came were looking for salesman at a cheap cost. Highest package was around 12LPA, while the average is around ?3,00,000 per annum. Less than 10% students got placed, the placement cell is a complete failure and they attract almost zero companies. The college faculties never pushed us for jobs or placements, their target was always to clear GATE and get admission in Mtech in a IIT, so that they will be praised by the Vice Chancellor. I got placed in a company with a CTC of around ?6.5 lpa which was the highest in my batch.
The fees per semester varied from ?13500 to ?15000, depending upon the examination fees, semester and extra charges. Scholarships were provided on the basis of Caste and sometimes even gender, also on the basis of place of birth, like some states sponser the Graduation fees for their students studying in Government Colleges. As I mentioned above, all the fees like management, gym, library charges, lab charges, sports facilities, development fees, admission and examination fees were included in that amount of ?13500- ?15000 per semester. As for the SC&ST students, there was some concession on that too and as a matter of fact I had around 20 batchmates from Bihar most of whom were recieving scholarships based on state sponsered graduation, they just had to write an application to the HOD, he will sign it and then forward it to the Administrative department and they will inform the government and the money would be paid in full.
Well there were some fests, like Equillibrio from the School of engineering and some other university fests like Aksa and others. The Equillibrio is generally held in March while Aksa is in April/May. Our library was vast and spacious but it was very hectic to get a library pass there. The classrooms were very basic, simple iron benches, old fans, not proper lighting pr ventilation, water coolers were broke all the time and the washrooms were smelly. Well the University was a Central one but it lacks the quality of Athletes in it, most of the students that represented were from the Physical Department, the ground was not even plane, there were ditches everywhere, no indoor badminton courts, no proper cricket or football ground, the boxing atheletes used to practice on the Basketball courts. There were a plenty of social groups and clubs, like for dance Abhinartan, for music Tarang, for theatre Urchins, for photography and filming Chalchitra, and there was a magazine too named UDAAN.
I tried for a hostel room but they were in shortage as about half of the boys have to live outside while there is plenty of space in girls hostels along with some very strict rules. The food quality was off, half cooked food with no flavour or nutrition. Registration process was hectic and hostel mess fee charges were higher than our monthly tution fees. I rented a room just outside the college, there are a plenty of rooms available near college but you will struggle to find a good mess, either cook yourself or if you want good food and really good rooms then you have to go to the city which is like 6 kms from the campus.
I choose Mechanical Engineering as my course here, as i am interested in Automotive, and also this institute is near my home town. There are permanent faculty members present in institute. All lectures are done in proper classrooms and study materials are also provides digitally. They are very easy to approach and helpful in nature, they help us solving doubts and gives us tips in study.
There is not much placement opportunities for the students of biotechnology compared to the students of b.tech. basically the placement is based on a merit list so not All students are benefited with this kind of placements only the students who wear like gold medalist where awarded this placement. For the the students in the BTech where awarded with better job opportunities and placement.
Rare opportunities to get internship, and placement because of lack of skill in developing courses rather than academic books.some get internship because they worked hard. Placement is all about how much of your soft and technical skills are well developed
According to Nirf reports 2023 , 13 ug(3, yr), 123 uh(4yr),1ug (5 yr) ,115pg (2yrs) and 38pg(3yr) students are placed and median package offered is INR 4 lpa, inr 3 lpa, int 4 lpa, inr 3 lpa and inr 2.45 lpa .

If you are from top branches like CSE, IT then you'll numbers of internship oppurtinities but for lower branches the intership oppurtinities are less. Mostly all the student get placed through campus placement but someone left the can try offcampus oppurtinities.
There are available campus placement and college provides some internship program through the webinar with companies.there avarage placement package around 8 to 10 LPA and the highest package is around 25 to 30 LPA
Rungta collage have a good numbers of companies in there list , and most of them visited every year for placements , almost 90% + students got placed every year and the average salary offered is 4 LPA.
