Remarks :

Good? It is considered as the top state engineering college, who takes admission through CEE examination, cut off is usually very high around 200-300 out of around 15k rank to get ETE and for CSE it will be under 100. Apart from that, there's not a single thing I admire in this college. drunkards everywhere in every hostel, even girls drank beer and vomit all over the place during the biggest college fest in assam. Teachers are mostly contractual in 1st year although around 40% teacher are good enough to study from them. Classrooms for the 1st year students are straight garbage while the new departmental buildings are pretty good. You have to take notes the traditional way, no one will allow you to use a laptop in class. Also most of the teachers have a big ego. The thing I admire is the support from some senior in college campus till freshers, after that it's like they're the kings and we're just pawns

Course Curriculum Overview :

ETE/ECE is a very good branch to develop and research, as I'm very fond of physics and mathematics, the way how processors work or the way how sub atomic particles interact with each other. I'm basically the physics nerd guy who teaches you physics the nighy before exam. Qualifications of around 50% of the teachers are decent. Graduated from an university and had done MTECH/MSc from IITG or IIT dhanbad. Our session started late so we'll be having only two exams, i.e, the mid sem and end sem only, after that I don't think we will be having more than two tests anyway.

Internships Opportunities :

Paid internships are available for 1st year students but 3rd party while internships become compulsory from 4th semester. I've not opted for any internships till now, also there will be no stipend as well.

Placement Experience :

Getting a good placement is like finding a dime in a garbage bin, around 60%-70% of the students gets on campus placement which aversges around 5LPA only. Most of the good students just opts for higher studies or off campus placement and I have no plan of relying on the college, I have no hope for the college. I'll opt for higher studies as I want to pursue in the field of research

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Admission fees is around 18k including the 1st semester fees, bus fair fees, fest fees. For hostel it will take around 14k extra including the mess fees for 1 month. Each semester will cost around 15k excluding exam fees and student's id fees will be extra 200rs. Club joining fees will be extra and each club has different fees structure but will not exceed 250rs.

Campus Life :

Life at campus? Roads are broken, it feels like driving a cycle with square tires. About fest, it is considered to be one of the biggest college fest after IIT in assam, it's the pyrokenesis, it is held in around feb. Course books are available, decent library. 1st year classrooms are trash outta garbage. Very hot, no ventilations, walls have green algae, tiles are broken and a lot of spiderwebs. We do have sports events and events are actually very common. there are big grounds in front of hostel where sports events are held. I've found the clubs to be very active and I've joined entrepreneurship and development club and robotics club recently, but other clubs like the literary club of the JAM club for music, space technology club and others are very active. There are club websites, social media pages and much more. aec.ac.in is the main website where the EDC club website is edc.aec.ac.in

Hostel Facilities :

I have not opted for a hostel as mess food is the worst there according to the other students. I have rented a PG double bed, my monthly rent is 7k food included and it's inside the college campus, it takes around 5m to reach my class from PG. PG name is goswami PG

Good-moderate faculty but maintenance of every other thing is very much not on time The authority doesn’t seem to be concerned about the students and delays every work and at the last moment you will be running around .

SUPPORTIVE FACULTY AND GOOD LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

Placement Experience :

While the college does not guarantee 100% corporate placement, it facilitates campus interviews and internships. Companies like Amazon, Flipkart, and Tata have rec recruited or offered internships to a percentage of students.

Dream Campus, Not-So-Dream Jobs

Placement Experience :

There are teachers under which u can work and later they can surely help u land a intership, happened with one of my friend. But as of now department dont directly provide u internship. I dont wanna say vague or old numbers about average or highest placement data, so wont comment on it but overall its not that great but there are exceptions, like there are some brilliant minds who lands an enormous off campus placement.(My 2 seniors who r out of india right now) Last year Bharat electronics BHEL came and took 8 seniors for 13lpa package, some banking companies and TCs comes too. My plans after my degree is to get a job in electronic domain while also focusing on my photography and editing Passion Check my work on insta sodaa.edits

My life in B.Borooah College as a science student

Placement Experience :

Placements At B. Borooah College for a BSc Forget it. There's no placement scene like you hear about. No companies come for recruitment drives. The so-called placement cell just puts up notices for government job ads or maybe a local pharmacy needing a helper. I've never seen a single big name visit campus to hire BSc grads. So there's no list of recruiters, no number of offers, and definitely no talk of high packages. Zero students get placed from here in that way. The plan after the degree is everything. For me, it's going for an MSc. For others, it's preparing for government exams, doing B.Ed., or applying to labs and hospitals directly. This college gives you the valid degree, the ticket to sit for other exams or apply further. It doesn't get you a job. It makes you eligible to go find one yourself. Your future is 100% in your own hands after you walk out.

This is one of the best colleges in our Kamrup district, students should take admission without any

Placement Experience :

The ratio of placement and job is very poor, this is a college of general degree course, so after passing B.Sc., B.Sc. one does not get a job directly, in future one has to do Masters degree, PhD.But data from the last three/four year revealed that students did get jobs in SBI and some other organization, but the percentage was very low. That is why most of the students after completing normal graduation take admission in courses like Masters and BEd, Deled. And my plan in future is to do Masters from IIT or IISER, after that I want to do PhD.

Life as a BTech Student at IIT guwahati

Placement Experience :

there is a CPI criteria of around 6 to sit for placements. The highest packages for bachelors can go up to 1.5cr. Companies in coding include Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Ola, Uber, finance companies like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and many more. Highest paying companies are AlphaGrep, Quadeye, JaneStreet but that is very competitive with only people with the best results and from CS getting in. Many people also receive preplacement offers after internships. There are also many companies that visit for product management roles like Ola, Meesho etc. The placement process for Design students is separate. There are also core companies like Texas instruments, that visit.
