- College faculty is one of the things which I like about the college. The faculty is very cooperating, understanding and have a vast knowledge pertaining to the subject they teach. The teachers create a learning driven environment where I get the incentive to study. Also they adjust, cancel or reschedule the lectures if all the students in the class have a problem or if we can’t come due to some reason such as if the exams are approaching they give us free lectures to study.
- Another thing which I like about the college is the student community. There are students coming from various parts of the country and only the brightest of minds get admission here. Thus I found like minded people for me with whom I can upgrade my knowledge. Also we make many friends if we take part in college events, functions and even if we come regularly to the college.
Dislikes
- The major thing that I dislike about the college is that it does not have a proper infrastructure. There is no ground, auditorium, a place to hangout, etc. They just have a building which has classrooms in it. Even if we go in the lobby it is always crowded as the college does have a huge infrastructure to accommodate these many students. The college’s canteen also does not have as many options to eat when compared to other colleges in Mumbai.
- The other thing that I dislike about this college is the attendance criteria. I know this is made mandatory but the college can provide exemptions to students who are pursuing a professional course as many other colleges in Mumbai do. This 75% compulsory attendance criteria makes it very difficult to pursue something else along with the undergraduate course in the college. Also the lecture timings are very uncertain. The college also reschedules the lecture timings one night prior to the college making it very difficult to plan our day properly.
Remarks :
NM College is one of the Maharashtra’s top college and if not the best also considered as a top college in India as well for commerce. This college is in Mumbai which is pretty close to my hometown, also Mumbai is the financial capital of India and as I wanted to pursue a career in finance I was all directed towards this college from all sides. Even my seniors and mentors had recommended this college very highly to me. The admission into this college is purely on merit basis and there are no separate written examinations or interviews to get into this college. The cut off for my course was 92% as in the general category. This college also has a separate Gujarati quota and I feel that this is one begrepen aspect of this college where there is more representation of one set of group.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum as in the first year consists of ten subjects which are Indian financial system, basics of financial services, stock market operations, microeconomics, maths and statistics, Indian knowledge system, environmental studies, communication skills, media culture and society and financial accounts. These subjects vary in different years. While the teachers teaching these subjects are highly qualified in their respective fields and I personally have had a nice experience in this college in terms of academics. There are smartboards in every classroom and the teachers use them to solve problems, show videos and show presentations to all students enhancing the student experience. The term exams are held in every six months and there are 6 semesters across 3 years. The difficulty level in first year is moderate and keeps on increasing as move on to second or third year.
Internships Opportunities :
I currently don’t have any plans of doing an internship in the first year but plan to do 2-3 internships in the next 2 years. The college does not offer many internship opportunities but gives concession in terms of attendance if you are doing any internship. You can get any role pertaining to any normal working employee if you manage to get an internship through the college and if you get lucky you might also receive a stipend between 5000-10000. You might get a role of stock analyst, broker, event manager or any such role which helps you to foster a better classroom learning.
Placement Experience :
NM College had a decent placement record which produces a placement of 20-25% every year in the BFM course. The placements are offered to students who have really worked hard in their college years, getting a CGPA of 9 or above, doing a professional course simultaneously or maybe having an extraordinary extra co curricular record. The highest placement offered in the college last year was 12,00,000 while the average package is around 500000-600000. Deloitte is one of the top recruiter in the college. I am currently pursuing CMA US along with FYBFM and plan to do CFA after this, thus enhancing my chance to get a placement through the college.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The yearly fee for FYBFM is 55,720 which mainly comprises of the tuition fee of 38,000 and also other charges and fee such as caution fee of 150, admission processing fee of 200, computer lab fee of 1000, library fee of 800, examination fee of 8000, etc. This structure is same across all categories except SC, ST and OBC which is around 14000. But so student of such category has applied for our course. The admission is on merit basis and is given on the basis of our 12th grade percentage.
Campus Life :
The only demerit that NM College has is that it does not have a good campus. There is only a building in which all the activities are held and even the orientations of this college is held in the NMIMS College’s auditorium. Still the social life in NM College is great where you get to socialise with a lot of people in class, in events and in committees. There are various committees in NM College such as Brand Building committee, advertising and marketing committee, financial literacy committee, NSS committee and an other host of such committees. The main events in this college include Umang, Arthashastra and Arithmos. The college also promotes sports and other cultural activities but does not have a proper infrastructure to facilitate the development of students in the college.
Hostel Facilities :
I am currently living in Aster by Hive which is in Vile Parle West and it is pretty close to my college thus catering to my convenience and accessibility. The infrastructure in hive is decent, it has a pool table, PS4, a good mess, a mini gym, room cleaning services and laundry services. The rooms start at a price of 3,75,000 and go up to 7,00,000. Hive Hostels also have other properties of Aurus which are the most premium properties. The food quality and menu choice is pretty good in Hive Hostels. The quality of the rooms in hive is also satisfactory. But I still think that Hive hostels is not value for money as you can get better flats in the same area at a lower cost of living. Hive also demands a security deposit of 1,00,000 other than the total rent which you receive at the end of your 11 month contract.

Placement Offers were Good on Records till now Collage has its own Placement Department. The Placement Department is operated by professionals. It aims at providing placement to students in reputed companies with handsome packages around 80% placement was done in our batch. All the students got chance to prove themselves in campus placements. Companies like Amazon, TCS, IBM, Make my trip, Amazon, flipkart, Infosys, HDFC, ICICI etc. visit the campus offers an average package ranges 3 - 4.5 LPA going on to Highest was 28 - 45 LPA Companies conduct interview sessions, GD, test for selection of students.
The Time I Had Spent in my College

Placement was Good as there is a placement cell in the college that looks on managing placement for students by inviting Companies from different sectors Companies like Amazon Deloitte, Accenture, Reliance, HCL, Hyundai, HDFC bank, YES Bank, Axis bank etc. These companies make a number of offers to students offers an average package ranges 3 LPA and highest was 28 - 32 LPA. Companies conduct interview sessions, practical test, GD for selection of students and students needs to qualify all rounds to get selected also Internship opportunities was provided by college to give students practical experience and to give knowledge. Internship was also provided by college to give students practical experience and knowledge about current changing environment.

Course Curriculum Overview :
i chose computer engineering because i was interested in the technical field and wanted to build my career in engineering. the faculty were qualified and helpful, and their teaching was a mix of thoery ,ppts and practical. term exams were conducted on time and the difficulty was moderate

Placement Experience :
Placement opportunities are not so widely discussed by our faculty. My plan after the program is to appear for ugc net exam and to become an assistant professor. The minimum salary for assistance professor post is approx 35000.

The placements & job opportunities in the campus placements is good in our college like honestly it is good and also it is reason for students to take admission because there are many company coming to college. The average package is around i will say is 4.5lpa of all branches and here ENTC and MECHANICAL branch have more than 96% placement rate The highest package is of 22lpa which was from CS. The ground reality the percentage of students placed from this college is around 70% like the core branches students have higher placement rates and technincal branches placement rate is of around 70%-80% the core branches students also gets placed in tech. The main recruiters are TCS,ESDS,WIPRO,TECH MAHINDRA,INFOSYS,L&T and more. NVIDIA was also there but last year they banned the college because some students cheated in online interview.

I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
Reality of niat

no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.

The number of companies coming for campus placements go down with each passing year. The companies that do come (TresVista mostly) are quite poor in terms of work ethic and payout methods. This year, around 40-45 students from the graduating batch got campus placement out of the 110-120 that applied.

Psychology as a field is highly recognized and growing sector after the lockdown,people are more focused on mental health,thus bhavans was the best option as they have Psychology department set for almost 20years which makes them more experienced. The teaching method of Dr.kranti Gawali the hod is excellent.
