I always wanted to go to Narsee monjee college of commerce & economics because of the brand name and culture of the college. The environment in the college is very light. There are many committees and fests with very high ratings and covering all domains so you get a lot of exposure. For admission I gave Mincet exam which has now been discounted and admission is given on the basis of 12th percentages
Course curriculum is really nice with proper blending of economics with IT i.e. Analytics enabling the learning with diversification. You get to learn python, SQL etc along with the basic curriculum of economics. I choose this course because of the analytics factor as it gives the opportunity to cope up with the growing IT industry. We get to learn about financial markets also in our curriculum. Faculty are highly qualified with degrees like PHd, CA, CMA etc. and the method of teaching is also quite good with enforcing on practical applications rather than just theoretical knowledge . Exams are conducted in 5 months like we had our 5th semester in month of October and now we have our 6th Semester exam in March and we had 1 internals exam in both semester which has now been changed to 2 internals per semester due to NEP.
Manu internship opportunities come in our college. I did my internship in Great place to work as a role of Consulting intern with stipend of 15,000 per month. I was responsible for client relations and was in direct contact with the clients.
Placements starts in the month of September with proper training bring provided from Second year only. There is no as such eligibility criteria for the placements you just have to attend the training sessions regularly. Many recruiters visit the campus of NM like Morgan stanley, JP morgan , Deloitte, EV , PWC etc and they did mass hiring and offering average package of 7-8LPA. Placements are still going on but the highest package as of now is 15LPA. Profiles offered by companies are consulting, etc. A major chunk of students are applying for masters so around 60-70% who applied for placements seriously have been placed already. I am also planning for my masters.
Yearly fees of my course i.e. Bachelors in Economics & Analytics is 95,000. There are many scholarships schemes available in our college which you can avail according to your eligibility criteria and use the scholarship.
There are many committees covering all the domains like we have incubation cell, research cell, finance and investment cell, etc covering all the domains. NM has over 30 committees with the main fest being Umang which happens in the month of September other than that we have 6-7 fests like Arithmos, Insight, Arthashastra etc. College library has all the books, novels available which you can access offline or online any way you want. Classrooms are well furnished with AC, smart board everything is available in the classroom. NM participates in all the sports events, we have a team for every sports cricket, football, basketball etc. All the clubs and committees are run by students only.
Narsee monjee college of commerce & economics don’t have a hostel of its own but they have some hostels which are affiliated by them which can be applied from the site of NM. I didn’t take those hostels as they were quite expensive. There are various PG options available near college. I took my pg in vile parle west.
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.
The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed
Diffrent companies have different criteria, limited companies comes in campus such as bootcoding Pvt.Ltd , and some small companies arrived. Highest package giving by companies is 4 LPA lowest package is 3LPA and average package is 2.5LPA. about 20% of students got placed. Searching a job after my course computation.
The faculty members are supporting but inexperienced the experienced professionals have left the college long time ago. This is one of the old colleges in Pune. The semesters are generally proactive extracurricular activities are less and are given not much priority .
There are the placements are done in the final year of college, You are eligible for the appear in the placements drive you have to score good scores in the semester exams. There are the lowest 3LPA and highest 6LPA packages are offered by the companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, BOAT, SBI , Ultra Tech, Mahindra, Capgemini etc. Students have to maintain their SGPA up to 8.0 CGPA.
engineering course curriculum is very old specially for university batch students my batch get admission in 2022 at that our college is not get autonomous status. passing semester exams is little hard in university compare to autonomous batch. faculties teachings methods are very old.
