To be honest I didn't knew much about this college, When I got admitted, next year the first B.Pharma batch got passed out. I didn't score that much so didn't get government college, I selected all the colleges during counselling and got a sit here. The teaching process is very good here, they provide a lot of laboratory instruments which is not done in other colleges. We've smart class facility and wi-fi facilities in the college. There's computer room with a lot of computers where we can do our project works and researches.
My mother is a healthcare professional which made me interested in this course. Medicine is what saves lot of lives so this is important. The faculties of our college are some p.hd and other's M.pharm degree holders. There are 8 semesters in 4 years. Before every semester, we have to appear in 2 internal exams. The difficulty level sometimes a lot sometimes less. Depends on how much you've studied.
I did hospital training in Panchgram Primary Health Centre because my main target is to get placed in a hospital. I had to dispense medicines and I did a lot of paper works and computer works. We had to keep a record of the patients and the medicines dispensed.
Placements are started during 7th semester. Companies like Mcleods, Cipla, Sun pharma comes to our college for the placements. The minimum trainings are done before that. They take exams and then viva rounds are done for the final selection. There's QC department and Production department for the industrial job. The minimum package they offer is 2LPA. 30% of a batch gets placed so the rate is quite less because there's not much seat in every companies and other students go for M.Pharma degree.
We pay 47,500 per semester, There are 8 semesters. I heard that the fees got increased, maybe it's 57,500 for the upcoming batches. We had to appear in WBJEE exam for admission in this college, if you score higher and get government quota, you don't need to pay the tution fees, which is 40,000 for our batch There's Swami Vivekananda scholarship for those who score 60% in every semester, they get 60,000 rupees per year.
Fest is conducted between March-June. Our fest was named "Pharmacarnival" before...last year it was "Somaroho". We had lots of fun in the fest. There are lot of important books and journals which needed for new experiments and more knowledge. Sports are mainly conducted in the winter season. there's cricket, football, badminton, race and lots of athletics are done. We don't have the club yet, it's on the way, this year maybe it'll be created.
I stay in a hostel but that's a private hostel...not controlled by our college totally. The food quality is not up to the mark, there's hotel nearby, you can order food from there. You can register for the hostel in the college or by coming to the hostel directly. The hostel is quite good and it's absolutely ragging free.
Placement is I do not say that is very good but I would say that treatment is almost okay and that's up to you and lot of MNC companies came in our College group. There are internship opportunities industrial training like Euphoria ardent like this MNC and ideas
In this college we have five departments, civil, computer science, mechanical, electrical and mechanical respectively and the stops are very good and the faculties are highly qualified and they are about almost everyone is iitiab
Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.
For computer science student theyare not providing any type of placement in campus but in other department student have any placement opportunity in our collage in every year visit from TCS, APPLO, and many big and small companies
Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.
Still don't about the placements and job opportunities . I haven't even discussed with my seniors about the opportunities after the graduation we get from college.
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
