So, I was preparation to get into Delhi University any how , and I got this college through CSAS process and appearing CUET examination, this college was my 9th preference out of 200 combinations in made into DU. Its a northcampus college ofcourse so i freezes my outcome in the first allotment only. Cut off for history here is around 633 and total 72 seats are available in history dept.
As history enthusiast , I love history a lot and wanted to pursue my graduation in history was bit confused with political science also because it is also an interesting subject for me so i made preference accordingly then i got this course with this college i found it quite good in the 1st allotment only then i made myself just go for it, if i talk about the faculty , surprisingly our college has its own museum and achieve so thats interesting and as historians we get chance to visit it on special permissions otherwise it is restricted to other dept , the old faculties of history dept are quite intellectual and sweet they are very strict coded yet very helpful to us , I love the teaching method as one of my prof. ASHA MAAM she gives simple and understandable explanations along with lecture notes which we have to note on the spot thus i m really understanding and Enjoying my second year especially history of India and History of modern China papers.. difficulty matters on studies.
So there are different fee structure for different courses, when I was in first year my college fee was 28,575 rupees and in 2nd and 3rd year it is same 20,670 rupees (almost 21k) then when it comes to any changes in sc/st quota there's no much difference they will only reduce sum of 250 rupees tution fee but you have to pay the rest (based on submitting proofs and documents) some time there are changes in fee structure too but that doesn't effect that much, the hostel fee for 1st year I paid 1,72,000 for both sem That's quite costly to me and everyone and the amount collection is done semester wise I.e for example i paid 91,350 in sem 1 and 81,250 in sem 2 i was expecting the cost may decrease this year I mean in 2nd year but i paid a sum of 83,000 for 3rd sem : as per information they told us the budget changes according to need and management by finance dept . Overall its quite a beautiful environment here and i enjoy the college life being a DU student ...
Shruti the annual fest of IP college (march- april) , along with lot of fests, like. Diwali mela , dandiya, cultural fest, departmental fests and much more, we have such a huge library with major books and oldest collection as a historian which is a boon for us, we have societies for ECA some of them are very active and few are inactive in nature , although aur college is majorly focused on academics which daily classes began from 8 Am till 5.20 pm , which is quite exhausting for all of us irrespective of all day full classes we have gaps but college thus requires a more rationalize time schedule
As a part of 100 year of IP college is has a mesmerizing infrastructure (British influenced early historical estate) along with such greenery everywhere , clean and beautiful and aesthetic college of Delhi university, sometimes being ignored due to its isolation from the main north campus colleges .. but its a part of North campus only in Civil lines, hostel registration is based on merit, the origin of your residence and availability, infrastructure is quite nice with good facilities food quality is okishhh (honestly may be tired of eating same food so) but its hygienic then other pgs or outside hostels, with quite tight security and prospects to be followed you can apply for hostel through visiting the college website filling the google forms attached there (in the beginning of any year )

The placement is good for students of commerce background and even many arts students get placement. But for science students, there are rarely any science background companies hiring as even as an intern. Many science students go for higher studies. So, Rarely science students get placement and if placed then not in company of science background.
I am as of in starting of 3rd year. The internship options are quiet really well. They give you many companies to apply in. .
I chose my course because I was interested in learning a business environment and management processes. Faculties are very well experienced and professional , and teaching methods are good. Term exams are held every 6 months and difficulty level is not very high .
Drc has a decent placement for bachelors students and cell is very active, invites companies like Amazon, Deloitte, ipac , accenture, etc and offers around 6-20 lac. But drc doesn't provide placements for master's students, though there are many external opportunities to grab in . Masters student do apply for internships in political and policy roles and even get placed in political consultancies and awarded with fellowships.
The placement opportunities are genuine, infact there is a dedicated placement cell in the college, companies like EY, Deloitte, KPMG, PwC too participate in our placement fairs and students have actually got good placements!
