I got admitted to this college after appearing for the entrance exam named CET ( Common Entrance Exam ). After clearing the exam, I had a face-to-face interview with our college principal Dr.Gour Banerjee. The Heritage Academy offers four full-time courses to students namely Bachelor's of Computer Application, Bachelor's of Business Administration, Bachelor's of Media Science and Master of Media Science. For admission into any of the mentioned courses, students need to clear the CET exam followed by a personal interview by the principal. I chose this college since it provides the best placement assistance to students. Also, the campus life of the college is worth a mention. The college is an anti-ragging one that stands against any kind of violation of the anti-ragging policy. The Heritage Academy is one of the six institutions of The Heritage Group of Institutions. The other five are The Heritage Institute of Technology, The Heritage College, The Heritage Business School, HLC and THS.
The total course fee for BCA was 3 lakh 20 thousand. It was the same for BBA, the course fee of BMS was around 3 lakh 60 thousand. The college didn't provide any kind of scholarship opportunity to students. The student-teacher ratio is 1:60. All the faculty members are highly qualified in their respective fields, some with an M.tech degree while the others with PhD degree. The college is affiliated with Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology. Exams are conducted in internals and final semester forms. Internal exams are further subdivided into four continuous assessments to better prepare the students for the upcoming semesters. Teachers post subject notes in the respective Google classrooms. They also take extra classes before every exam. As heard from juniors, there has been a fee hike for the courses this year. The semester fee used to be 50 thousand whereas it has been increased to 60 thousand now. I believe a little financial assistance in the form of a scholarship would help students.
Industrial training was provided by Ardent Computech Pvt. Ltd. I was enrolled in the training with domain - Full stack development on Artificial intelligence and Machine Learning using Python. As mentioned above, Wipro provided an internship opportunity with a stipend of 15 thousand a month in the job role of Associate Software Developer. It had a bond of 5 years where the instal 4 years would be working during weekdays and pursuing an Mtech course during weekends and the final 5th year would be serving the company. I didn't opt for this job opportunity since I felt that the compensation was way too less and the 5-year bond was also a burden, breaking which employees were liable to re-pay the company 75 thousand bucks. Job roles that were offered by other companies are Associate Analyst, Graduate Trainee, Data Scientist, and several roles in the field of marketing and sales.
High-tech companies like Deloitte, EY, L&T Mindtree, Wipro, Sap Labs, and Infosys visit the campus keeping eligibility criteria of 70% in 10th, and 12th boards and 7 CGPA in the present course to students. The companies also provide internship opportunities to students. The highest package offered to BCA students last year was 4.5 LPA by EY. Deloitte offered 3.8 LPA with the job role of an associate analyst. Mindtree offered 3.1 LPA and Wipro offered Work work-integrated learning program (Mtech course) which had 5 five-year bond. The average package that was offered was 3 LPA. Almost 60% of the students were placed in the 2023 batch even though it was a recession period. I am currently pursuing a Master's from the University of Engineering and Management hoping for a better job role with a higher package. Before the recession period, it was heard that almost 90% of the students had been placed in different tech companies. Deloitte has been a mass recruiter for our college since 2008.
The college provides the best campus life to students. An annual fest is conducted every year named Eclecia in March where every other college participates. Every classroom is equipped with projectors. There are 2 computer laboratories with the capacity of 120 students. The library is a place of refreshment for students burdened with lots of assignments. The campus has 2 canteens that serve delicious fresh foods, 1 basketball court, 1 badminton court, 1 football court, 1 swimming pool, several cricket courts and multiple abandoned grounds. Students assemble at the Labour's ground during recess. They play clapbox, guitars and drums as well to spend quality time with friends. The college also offers hostel facilities to female students. Hostels are neat and clean. Hostels maintain a deadline of 8 pm every day by which students need to return. Hostels offer 2 days of non-veg meals to students and veg meals for the rest of the days in the week. The college provides the best campus life.
Placement is I do not say that is very good but I would say that treatment is almost okay and that's up to you and lot of MNC companies came in our College group. There are internship opportunities industrial training like Euphoria ardent like this MNC and ideas
In this college we have five departments, civil, computer science, mechanical, electrical and mechanical respectively and the stops are very good and the faculties are highly qualified and they are about almost everyone is iitiab
Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.
For computer science student theyare not providing any type of placement in campus but in other department student have any placement opportunity in our collage in every year visit from TCS, APPLO, and many big and small companies
Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.
Still don't about the placements and job opportunities . I haven't even discussed with my seniors about the opportunities after the graduation we get from college.
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
