- The college infrastructure and the laboratory infrastructure are good, important instruments are available in the laboratory.
- But the faculty and there teaching methods are good.
Dislikes
- The campus area is small. Some books are unavailable and the delay time is 4 to 6 months for books. Boy's hostel are not available.
- The no of faculties are less. No clinical experience available during academic time.
Remarks :
This is NAAC "A" grade college and recently became Autonomous college. The bus stand and railway station and hospital near this college. There are no required of any admission examination. You can apply on the basis of your class 12th marks.
Course Curriculum Overview :
This course is government sponsored for this college. The faculty are good and the methods are also good. Smart class room and laboratory are available. There are two semesters exams in every year and one viva at the end of the course. The difficulty level of semester exam is moderate.
Internships Opportunities :
There are 6 months internship included with the course. Students are apply in government medical College or government recognised hospital in West Bengal for internship. During the internship we work as medical laboratory technologist in different departments like Biochemistry, Central laboratory, Microbiology, Pathology, Blood bank. This is a paid internship every student should pay 3000 INR to the medical College for internship.
Placement Experience :
The eligibility criteria for placement is complet the course with atlist 50% marks in all semester. The placement cell is poor in this college. The local Pvt. medical laboratories are recruiting the students. The highest package is 12000 -14000 INR and the average package was 8000 INR.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
In the time of admission admission fees and 1st semester 10790 INR. 2nd semester 6570 INR. And per year almost 18000 INR. University examination fees per semester 1220 INR. SVMCM scholarship for general students 18000 INR and for OBC 30000 INR.
Campus Life :
In this college every year in April or May month college hosting a freshers party. Almost all course related books are available in this library and a study room also available. Football, kho- kho, Voli Ball and other outdoor activities are available. The extracurricular activities are available in this college like chess, quize etc.
Hostel Facilities :
The college hostel is available only for girls. Girl students are apply online for the hostel. No boys hostel are available in this college. Some PG are available near the college with affordable rent.

Student should not have any Backlog and Minimum 60% throughout academics , those who qualify this criteria they can be part of placement drive. Cognizant - 12 , TCS - 4, Bavistech - 8, Utah Tech Labs - 15. Highest - 9 LPA , Average - 3.5 LPA Around 30% student got placed. I got placed and after getting degree i will join that compnay.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure

Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.

Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Placements are for MSc batch only. Last year the highest package was 28LPA from Citi Bank, Gurgaon. Majorly hiring companies that come in FETSU for placements only come to maths dept in SFSU. Packages offered here are based on qualities. It decent.
