- I like campus life at IIT ROPAR as it is so chill with so many friends with different ethnicity, religion and languages as I get to know about there cultures and there tradition . Faculty including professors and TA are highly educated , chill , calm , cool and friendly. they will discuss any issue with students regarding courses , professors etc
- About infrastructure IIT ROPAR has one of the great campus of 500 acres surrounded by true beauty of nature far away from rushing city life .
Dislikes
- About faculty sometimes professors are so strict with their course policy such as making attendence criteria compulsory . They also make courses so tough so that it becomes very difficult to get good grades.
- About Infrastructure, college is far away from smart city. College situated in Rupnagar which is not a smart city as we have to go Chandigarh ( around 60 k.m. ) to watch movies, visit mall. You may find scammers here which try to scam you.
Remarks :
To enroll in IIT ROPAR B.Tech course firstly have to clear JEE mains and advanced. For mains cut-off is 90 percentile for general and OBC category around 66 percentile for SC/ST category then moving to advance cut-offs it genrally depends upon paper as in 2023 for general it was 84 marks out of 360 for obc 78 out 0f 360 for EWS 77 out of 360 for SC/ST 42 out of 360 . For admission you have register on josaa(website) and there have to make list of colleges in which you have to enroll. There will be 6 rounds in josaa counselling in which you get a seat in college with branch depending upon your jee advance rank . Afterthat you have to complete your registration in college with required documents issued on college sites. The infrastructre, faculty, diversity, placements and location of college is awesome . There are almost noting bad about this college except their cultural fests.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Depending upon my rank I got B.Tech in chemical engineering in IIT ROPAR. I chose this branch cause I always love to study about chemicals, drugs, petroleum and reactors. The professors are higly educated and have done p.hd and are part of many national and international researches. They are also so chill and cool so that they make us realise that they are IIT proffessors. Now about exam it's depend on course structure as there will be quizzes surpriseed or scheduled. There will be mid sem exam which will generally happen after 2 months after admission and end sem will happen at ending of semester
Internships Opportunities :
Currently I have not done any internship. Companies like J.P.Morgan , Adobe , Amazon , etc have came for internships with good opportunity and packages around Rs50k to 3 lakh per month.
Placement Experience :
Depending upon companines their will be CGPA criteria. So to get the placement in good MNC's we have to maintain above 8 CGPA. Zomato with offer of 35 Lakh per annum, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited with 20 Lakh per Annum, Flipkart with offer of 32 Lakh per annum etc. Highest Package of 80 Lakh per Annum and average package of 28 Lakh per Annum and 90 percent students got placed on campus. So, My is to secure a job in Public sectors companies like B.P.C.L., B.H.E.L., If possible then I will go to Gulf Countries like U.A.E. in petro-chemical industries.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Security fee (Hostel and Mess) = Rs10000 Registration fee = Rs40000 for general/OBC and Rs20000 for SC/ST. Tuition fee = Rs200000 Other = Rs28700 hostel and Mess fee = Rs51640 There are so many scholarships as following : 1. For SC/ST students there will be no tuition fee. 2. For students whose family income is less than 1 lakh have not to pay tuition fee . 3. For students whose family income is between 1 lakh to 5 lakh have to pay tuition fee. All students have to pay hostel ,mess and other fee. Also there are merit cum based scholarships depending upon your rank in jee.
Campus Life :
Campus life full of fun and excitment. There are major 3 fest of IIT ROPAR that are zeitgeist(cultural fest happen around october last week), Advitiya(Tech fest happen around mid of february),Aarohan( sport fest happen around last of march). There are good number of books and journal in library . There are so many sport activity held here such as eureka in which freshers were given introduction about sports in college and IYSC which is also sport fest in which college students compete among themselves . There are so many clubs as well such as photograpy , filming , robotics , cooking , swimming , arts and finance etc.
Hostel Facilities :
College will provide hostel depending upon your course , year and gender. College will also provide mess depending upon course and year. For registration in you have to submit form as given by hostel with your enrolling letter. Hostel fee = Rs6000 per year Mess fee = Rs51640 per year Hostel and mess security fee = Rs10000 You are not allowed to rent room .

Placement Experience :
To apply for placements in LPU you need to have 6+cgpa mostly. there no company as i know that went without recruiting any student. the highest was on campus was 51.03lakhs Microsoft and average was 5-6 lakhs. the students around 85 %will be placed .my plan was to do a decent job in any MNC.
Life at cgc landran.
Placement Experience :
Placement at CGC landran is decent around 70 to 80% student got placed based on your skills. The eligibility criteria usually includes minimum 60% marks with no active backlogs. Top recruiter companies includes TCS, Wipro, Infosys and Capgemini. The average package is around 3-4 lpa while highest package can go up to 10 to 12 lpa. Multiple offers are made every year across different domain.

Internships Opportunities :
I haven't done any intenship yet but Yes, internships are available at Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Mohali. Companies include TCS, Infosys, startups. Roles: Web Dev, QA, Data Analyst. Stipend ?5k–15k. Tasks include coding, testing, and project work.

Placement Experience :
The eligibility for placement is no backlog or reappear and CGPA IS above is 6 and fresher they get placement for 6thsem based on the skills and knowledge of the student and they provide a salary of 3 to 12 lakhs per/ year and recently SPICEJET company give around 8 lakhs CTC for 5 to 8 students and my plans after competing the degree is to do higher education in design modeling.

As the course is designed for pharmaceutical industry so the companies like mankind, sunpharma, macloid, overseas etc. Are top recruiters. The average package is 3-3.5 lakh per annum and highest goes upto 4lpa. As after masters most of the students goes for higher studies and teaching so the placement rate is low.

Overall Placement rate is about 60 to 70 percent for every branches . Recruiters provided descent opportunites to the students. Above 7 CGPA students get eligible. Some recruiter are Infosys, TCS, wipro, Siemens etc

College doesn't keep any eligibility criteria for placement it depends on the company which came for recruitment and yea if you had scored around 8+ cgpa you are eligible for every company Regularly company which come for recruiting students are infosys,tcs ,jsw , cognizant, Capgemini,L&T,tata steel etc Average package is 4LPA and highest package is around 55 LPA Around 75-80 percent students get placed in the college Some of the branches like instrumentation and control engineering and mechanical engineering have around 98-100% placement in the previous year

Since the college comes under an institution it opens the gate for various company and even those which just require a graduation degree instead of a specific field. Cadila Lupin etc visits every year. Good 60 to 70 students gets placed.

The placement are good but there are a lot of criterias for the placement and the college faculties force us to take the placement in the development roles to show that the college has 100% placement.There are less companies for the consultancy or data based jobs. The college doesn't provide any on campus intership. They provide intership in the college Startups and they pay very very less and they exploit the interns as lot. I got only 500 rupees for doing 1 month internship and working 6 hours a week.
