- Campus Life is too good. Faculties are very supportive and friendly.
- College infrastructure is very good and study pressure is less. So you got enough time to upskill you.
Dislikes
- Lectures are not so regular as students are very irregular to their classes. Attendance percentage is not maintained properly.
- There are not enough lab equipment for some subjects like physics, chemistry Digital electronics.
Remarks :
I took the WBJEE exam and secured a good rank of 4200. Then through online counselling, I got a seat in this college. The factor that made me choose the college is the fee structure. Being a government College, it offers very low fees - 6000 per semester in CS and 12000 per semester in IT.
Course Curriculum Overview :
As previously said, the college operates B.TECH at a very low fee. The professors are highly educated and very friendly with students. There are 4 internal exams and they are enough easy to pass. You can avail SVMCM scholarship which helps with a good amount.
Internships Opportunities :
There is no such Internship Opportunity given by the college. You have to search online and apply if you wish to do an internship. Our college students number is very low as compared to others as our college offers only 3 branches in B.TECH.
Placement Experience :
The placement scenario is becoming better day by day. HEXAWARE, TCS, COGNIZANT, and DELOITTE are some of the visited recruiters in our college. Last year 14 LPA was the highest package and the average was 4.7 LPA. 43% of students were placed last year (ON+OFF CAMPUS).
Campus Life :
I haven't opted for Hostel. So I don't have any info about this. The campus life is very good. In our college, there are ANNUAL SPORTS FEST, CULTURAL FEST AND TECH FEST. There are several clubs like Wall Magazine Club and Cultural Club etc. in our college.

Placements are not being offered from our college solely. But internship is being offered in the last 6 months mandatory for the completion of the four year course. The placement thing is solely on you like how capable are you to get into one hospital. But this college has nothing to do with it.

One should not be have any backlogs to sit for campus placements and should keep a decent GPA as many companies puts a cut off GPA. Placements are very decent and almost 70 percentage gets placed many of the others gets into higher studies

Student should not have any Backlog and Minimum 60% throughout academics , those who qualify this criteria they can be part of placement drive. Cognizant - 12 , TCS - 4, Bavistech - 8, Utah Tech Labs - 15. Highest - 9 LPA , Average - 3.5 LPA Around 30% student got placed. I got placed and after getting degree i will join that compnay.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.

Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.

Placements are for MSc batch only. Last year the highest package was 28LPA from Citi Bank, Gurgaon. Majorly hiring companies that come in FETSU for placements only come to maths dept in SFSU. Packages offered here are based on qualities. It decent.
