MY HONEST REVIEW ABOUT VSSUT

- I like the well equipped fuel Technology and mass transfer lab in my college.
- I like the teaching methodology of my professors.
Dislikes
- I dislike the unclean environment of central garden and swimmingpool.
- I don't like the small playground in my college.
Remarks :
Actually, initially I don't chose this college. But I was unable to secure a good rank in jee main exam and my percentile was very low.so,ultimately I had to do engineering. So I joined vssut,Burla.No,I didn't face any group discussion or written test to join this college.Joining process of vssut is dependent upon your Jee main rank.After giving jee main you have to apply for ojee web based counselling. After the counselling over,then you could join this college. Basically less than 4lakh rank in jee main is enough to get a branch in vssut.For CSE,IT,ETC rank should be less than 90000.For core branch like mechanical,civil less than 2lakh rank is safe and for chemical, production and metallurgy lessthan 4 lakh rabk is safer to join vssut.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I had a great interest in chemical engineering branch since my childhood. As my parents worked in HPCL.so I like this branch very much.This branch has a wide range of scope.Blast furnace, extraction of metal from ore,pulp production for making paper,fertilizer industry, pharmaceutical industry and many more industries recruit chemical engineers.so,this branch has a wide range of scope.All the faculties of my branch are well experienced and P.H.D holders from prestigious old IITS and NITS.Quality of teaching is awesome. But one thing I don't like the frequency of our semester examination. In two to 3 months of the academic study days,we face a semester examination. Although our lecturers of my branch are extremely well in their teaching.But it's difficult for us to study so many things in this short time.
Internships Opportunities :
I have opted for internship at JK,paper.i was applied for it through our training and Placement cell.I learnt how pulp was made from wood chips by using sulphate krafing process in a digestive chamber and then how tons of paper is formed from pulp.My project was based upon the sulphate pulping or kraft pulping process and I worked there as an intern and learnt to remove lignin content in preheater before wood chips to mix with white liquor. I learnt a lot from JK,paper industries situated at Raygada.
Placement Experience :
Placement and job opportunities in my branch is quite good.For placement one has to clear the 7.5 cgpa criteria with no backlogs.Companies like Hindalco,Jk paper,paradeep phosphates, vedanta and Jsw steel visit for recruitment of chemical engineering students.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
As I am belonging to TFW category,I paid 31040 each year as my academic fees which is 6000rs less than the regular student's fees.TFW seat is given to the top most ranked student's with family income less than 8LPA.My hostel fees is 48000.so total fees of my 4 years of Btech will be around 3,20,000 rs.Before joining the college I have given 10000rs in the ojee web counselling. Scholarships like "E-medhabruti" , "post matric" Scholarship by the govt of odisha is provided to the students depend upon the merit and financial background. Besides these American society of mechanical engineers of Vssut and JSW foundation also provides Scholarship to the students. I had applied for E-medhabruti Scholarship and for 2 years 40000 rs had funded by govt to my academics.Per year 20000 is provided as financial support to the students by state government.
Campus Life :
My campus life is average .Although campus consist a large 500 acre area.But many of the areas are under construction. Central garden and swimming pool are unclean.Playground is not enough big to play various sports.Now coming to the fest every year in the month of December and January fests are organized by various society of out college. 'IILUMINA' is our sports fest.samavesh and vassunt are our cultural fest which are organised by dramatic society of our college.
Hostel Facilities :
Yes,I have opted for a hostel currently I am in Agastya hall of residence which is provided by the college authority to the 2nd year undergraduate students.Facilities in the hostel are good.Pure drinking water,washing machine and laundry services are provided to the students.Rooms are well equipped and organised .24×7 fast internet is present in our hostel.One thing I don't like in the hostel ie the mess food and behavior of mess staffs.Both quality and quantity wise food is not good.And they even behaved so rudely to the students,If someone complains about mess problems to the authority. Fir hostel accommodation you have to fill a form at the time of admission .

After completion of this course go for national health mission recruitment In odisha opsc amo exam conducted many students were passed the exam from our college and got posted. You can go for many pharmacy company 100 percent of students getting placement

There campus placement here are ok startups came here and many big mncs like tcs, flipkart etc. Some department get companies like the MBA but that is an exceptional case. No other department participate in campus drive or placement cell. Students need to apply off campus to get placed.

for placement students need to get atleast 7cgpa. The placement is decent where most students around 85% get placed . Main companies are accenture, tcs, infosys , cognizant etc. Highest package was 9lpa and average was around 4lpa . I plan to work in one of the companies i get placed in.

Placement Experience :
Students are eligible for placements from third year onwards on a condition that the student has good skills and created good projects. Companies are still coming to ITER since July, various companies like Wipro, Xerox, Paytm, Flipkart, DELL, Microsoft, TCS Infosys and various other MNCs and startups come to the campus for placements and also provide pre placement offers. Currently I have no idea about the highest and average packages as per the company and the profiles offered, but I know that the highest package offered in Iter has been 43 lakhs pa and the average package is around 6lacs-8lacs. There are certain criteria set by the college for the students to be eligible to sit in the placement, out of that more than 85% to 90% of eligible students have secured placements. Students also get internships from second year. After I get a degree and if I land a suitable job then it's okay otherwise I will look to get into civil services or defence.

It has average placements. They also provide training for that. You will be eligible from 4th year. They also provide practice schools where the eligibility is 8 cgpa. They also provide training in the 3rd and 4th year. The companies which I know are Infosys Accenture Capgemini Genpact Mindfire solutions Mindtree. Tcs. pwC Deloitte Inovaare Tata Power Cosmovolt Tech Mahindra etc. They mostly provide the packages in the range 3.5-6 lpa ..The average oncampus placement this year was 4.5 lpa and the highest was 14.5 lpa. The 30 lpa shown was off campus. So you can get jobs according to your skills and cgpa . Overally the placement is just average but roi may be better.

Actually as I am a undergraduate I don't exactly know how much is the eligibility criteria for placement but I know that the guest lecturers are given according to number of classes they do in a month My plans after getting a degree is to give jrf net /gate and to further study in reasearch lines.

Eligibility criteria for placements are based on cgpa cut off and no backlogs are allowed. A few companies that came for recruitment are Infosys, Tcs , Accenture , Cognizant , Dell , Deloitte . Profiles offered are mostly of software engineer and average package is around 600000 per annum . My plan after getting degree is to go into software engineering job .

The placement scenario is quite good as most of the students get placed before the completion of course with a decent package. Average package is around 8lpa and the highest package till now is 60+ lpa.

Course Curriculum is well structured ,in first year, evry branch subjects are mostly common and from second year onwards they taught branch specific subjects. Faculties are highly educated and they are also clear their engineering from best colleges

Yes, we do have a placement cell over here and is quite good. Many well-known companies come to recruit their employees, and the companies are quite satisfied over our senior's hard work and smartness. Many companies like Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Delloyd, etc., come to give good placements to the students at the college. I don't know the exact numbers, but the highest package was around 45 lakhs, and the average package was around 5 lakhs per annum. The average percentage of students getting placements is roughly around 70% to 80%. Currently for me, I don't have a solid plan to what to do but you never know some miracle might happen. Just joking, I do have a plan for the near future, but I am little worried about the future that on one before me start that initiative that I have thought about it.
