Remarks :

I opted for sociology because this subject has also intrigued me. I was very eager to learn about it more. My first preference was venky, but i got ip not disappointed tbh i think ip was good decision. The admission process was smooth. And for the cut off it was pretty low comparatively but the minimum criteria was above 590 (category matters here). I did not got upgraded because it was my second preference. There was no interview we had our orientation and then department orientation, everything was smooth, but obviously when you’re in the first year you will be clueless for your first semester at max, then things will start to make sense.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Sociology was something i wanted to do for a very long time, and I’ve also heard so much about ip’s sociology faculty that’s why i choose this subject. Our previous faculty was so amazing they established the sociology department in ip, but i got to experience there teaching for only 1.5 month :( i can not explain what impact they had on us, they’re so good at it, they knew what they teaching and everything. They highly qualified for it. We have our every semester (in every 6 months), for the difficult level, you just need to know your concept because theres nothing from outside as long as your concept is clear you can do it.

Internships Opportunities :

I have not done any internship under my college, but one of my friend did, they said it’s all about experience, you have keep up with everything you’re getting. It’s very helpful also, if you work under good professors.

Placement Experience :

I’m not really sure as i have just started my second year. But there are some internships which our college provides to students like working with teachers as assistant for research work. And if you’re applying for any internship through college you should have atleast 70% above attendance, percentage can differ college to college.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The admission fee for my course was 28000rs something, it can be different for other courses which has practical (like psychology or geography) and my college also offers BMMMC for it’s fee it’s around 90000rs something. But now as I’m in my second year my annual fee is 20000rs around, if differs from course to course, but same for everyone category doesn’t not matter even when you’re filling your examination form the fee will be around 1200-1300rs maximum it can 1600rs (if you have any practical paper). I’ve also heard about the scholarship, it’s based on merit and i think you can apply for it in your second, your family income must be less than 90000 per year.

Campus Life :

I love my campus so much, like it’s one of the most beautiful and gorgeous campus in du. It’s pretty big also (21 acres). It’s so peaceful you can see greenery and flowers everywhere. Our campus has so many cats :) i love them, they can literally lift up your mood. Our clubs are pretty active id say because some day or the other, there’s something going on (nss, ncc, music society). We have annual fest (shruti) it was good, my first time attending Shruti experience was great. For the sports there are alot, cricket, archery, badminton, etc. i think the western dance society and drama society are run by students mostly. As for the library you can find anything you want as long as you have library card (it’s mandatory).

Hostel Facilities :

I’m not a hosteller, but I’ve heard we have very good experiences in hostel. There are two hostels in ip premises one is within the college and the other one is outside college (pretty close only). Although it’s very expensive but students experience are good, they have there individual events on almost every festival. And also it’s hard to take hostel, because there are criteria.

Gargi Colleg , Delhi university

Placement Experience :

The placement is good for students of commerce background and even many arts students get placement. But for science students, there are rarely any science background companies hiring as even as an intern. Many science students go for higher studies. So, Rarely science students get placement and if placed then not in company of science background.

Placement Experience :

Drc has a decent placement for bachelors students and cell is very active, invites companies like Amazon, Deloitte, ipac , accenture, etc and offers around 6-20 lac. But drc doesn't provide placements for master's students, though there are many external opportunities to grab in . Masters student do apply for internships in political and policy roles and even get placed in political consultancies and awarded with fellowships.

Placement Experience :

The placement cell is quite active. There are always placement and internship fairs every year and even other college students can join them. The placement recruiters are from top companies like Deloitte, KPMG, EY, etc. Although, not every one gets in these companies but then, there are other companies as well like Finshots, Voice Your Vichaar, etc. The average package is 3LPA and highest package is 8LPA.
