Remarks :
I took BCA in this college because of the good fee structure. This college is good for BCA. You can easily get admission to this college, no need to give the written test or any interviews. The teachers were very supportive and helpful. Some staff are very rude but some staff are good at behaviour. The admission process is so simple they just give you an admission form and ask for some documents which is needed for admission.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose BCA because of interested in computers. The faculty members were highly qualified and teaching methods were so simple that you can easily understand. Exams were conducted after 6 months. In those 6 months, they took CA1, CA2, CA3, and CA4 for class exams and for practicals PCA1 and PCA2. You can easily pass the exam. The fee structure for BCA is 195000 for the course. There are also scholarships and student loan is available.
Placement Experience :
This college gives you Placement job opportunities. Many companies come to this college like TCS, WIPRO, INFOSYS, etc. You will get the job if you have a good CGPA, a minimum of 7 CGPA. More than 100 students got placed this year (2023). The highest package was 6 LPA and the average package was 3 LPA. For jobs they offered like system analysts, IT managers, product managers, etc. 95 percent get Placement. After completing my degree I will work as a software developer in a big company.
Campus Life :
There is a small campus which is 5th floor building. This college provides you library and playground. They conduct freshers party for new students. The classrooms were very neat and clean. There is also a library that gives you a library card from which you can borrow books for study. There are extracurricular activities like football, cricket, badminton, carrom, etc. There is a social media college on Instagram named @194ims. The canteen food is not so good. Hostel rooms were good and the registration process was simple. Hostel fees are too high.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.

Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.

There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Placements are for MSc batch only. Last year the highest package was 28LPA from Citi Bank, Gurgaon. Majorly hiring companies that come in FETSU for placements only come to maths dept in SFSU. Packages offered here are based on qualities. It decent.
