Although shyam lal college has good teachers and management it lacks in infrastructure compared to North campus colleges like there are no hostels and the playground is limited to only sports team. So please fill preference list with proper knowledge.
I chose this course because it is flexible and coincide with the syllabus of my preparation for UPSC . The BA course is pretty easy and flexible. You can gain tremendous knowledge and you still have a lot of time for preparing for UPSC and other things. The faculty is very good and qualified and not much strict . The teachers are friendly and easy going. The teaching method is pretty nice and good but you also have to give efforts. The exams happens in every semester so in 5 to 6 months and you will be given gaps of 5 to 6 days for each paper or subject . The difficulty Level of paper is easy if you have studied and solved PYQs.
No i haven't opted for any internship programs but our college and especially Delhi University organises various internship programs. They also provide stipends for the project and task you have done. You have to ask to college office, clubs and social group for more knowledge about internship.
There are many types of placement for different courses . There are various companies which college arranged for placement and packages. I have not much knowledge about package as my plan is to prepare for UPSC after getting degree.
The average fees for all the BA combination are from 21000 to 25000. In my first year of college I had to pay around 21000 and in second year I had to pay around 23000 . After the payment of yearly fees there are no extra payment or fees except examination fees which you have to pay in each semester before 20-15 days of examination which is around 1200- 1500 . For example I took admission in August 2023 so I had to pay 21000 , In one year there are two semesters so in each semester I had to pay 1200-1500 as examination and practical fees. There are No extra fees like library fees, lab fees etc. The fees may increase with increasing year of course but not very drastically like if it will increase then max 1000 to 1500. The fees of my batchmate from my course are same and from other courses varies around 2000-4000 Rs. There are many scholarship and internships which college provides but you have to check the details from office. The rate of my course is pretty affordable.
The campus life is all about how you want to enjoy it . You can make a lot of friends and can enjoy in college as well as in Delhi ,as transportation system by metro is very good. The college organises freshers party for first year students and a yearly fest in which sometimes celebrity also arrived like last year Ajay Hooda a haryana singer came for the fest. The advantage of being a Delhi University students is you can go to other colleges fest which comes under Delhi University also by showing your I'd card. The fest usually occurs after the exams. The library is pretty good and there are many books available for all varieties of readers . The college have also hockey, kabbadi, kho kho and volleyball team and you can also enroll in NCC. There many college clubs and social group like musical and dance group in which you can enter by giving audition.
Sorry but there are no hostels facilities provided in our college but in some other Delhi University college mainly in North campus some college provides hostel facilities. But there are many pg and private hostel facilities available near college but make sure to ready to leave if food is not good don't be scared of changing hostel or pg just inform one month before leaving so there will be no problem in receiving security.

The placement is good for students of commerce background and even many arts students get placement. But for science students, there are rarely any science background companies hiring as even as an intern. Many science students go for higher studies. So, Rarely science students get placement and if placed then not in company of science background.
I am as of in starting of 3rd year. The internship options are quiet really well. They give you many companies to apply in. .
I chose my course because I was interested in learning a business environment and management processes. Faculties are very well experienced and professional , and teaching methods are good. Term exams are held every 6 months and difficulty level is not very high .
Drc has a decent placement for bachelors students and cell is very active, invites companies like Amazon, Deloitte, ipac , accenture, etc and offers around 6-20 lac. But drc doesn't provide placements for master's students, though there are many external opportunities to grab in . Masters student do apply for internships in political and policy roles and even get placed in political consultancies and awarded with fellowships.
The placement opportunities are genuine, infact there is a dedicated placement cell in the college, companies like EY, Deloitte, KPMG, PwC too participate in our placement fairs and students have actually got good placements!
