Remarks :

For admission, I did not have to face any group Discussions or personal Interviews as the selection process for NITs is based solely on JEE Main scores. The cut-off for Electrical Engineering varies yearly, but it's generally competitive, espicially for candidates outside the home state. The admission process is straightforward, conducted through the JoSAA counselling, where students are allotted seats based on their JEE Main rank and category.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum at NIT Silchar is well-structured and keeps up with industry standards. There are three exams in a semester: Mid-Semester Exams, End-Semester Exams, Minor exams. The exams were moderately challenging, with a focus on testing both theoretical understanding and problem-solving skills.

Internships Opportunities :

Students get the opportunity to apply for internships from fifth semester and onwards. Stipend varies from 15000 to 100000 per month. I didn't apply for the internship yet so I don't know the projects or the tasks.

Placement Experience :

Eligibility criteria to sit in the placement rounds is to have a minimum of 6 CGPA aggregate. Few visited top companies are Google , Microsoft, Amazon etc. Highest package this year was 55 lakhs however average package was 11 lakhs

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Additionally, a one-time refundable caution mney deposit of 20,000 is required, covering both institutional and hotel security. The tuition fee per semester varies based on the student's category and family income: SC/ST/PwD Students: Exempt from tutuin fees. Students with Annual Family Income Below 1 lakh : Exempt from tuition fees.Students with Annual Family Income Between 1 lakh and 5 lakh: 20,833 per semester. Students with Annual Family Income Above 5 lakh: 62,500 per semester. Hostel and mess charges amount to 22,500 per semester.

Campus Life :

Life at campus is good. We the students there enjoy the college and hostel life so much doing enormous activities in day and night. We play badminton, TT, Cricket and many more sports there and we go to college GYM to do exercises there. We have a technical fest named Technoesis which is conducted in the month of september and a cultural fest named incandaeces conducted in the month of february. Books and journals are very easily available in the college library. There is a drama club, coding club, dance club, photography club and many more clubs that are run by the students themselves.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostels are good with some features lacking there such as cleanliness in bathrooms. one out five washrooms are unusable because they are broken. Hostel rooms have basic facility such as fan lights with 2 students in one room.

Good-moderate faculty but maintenance of every other thing is very much not on time The authority doesn’t seem to be concerned about the students and delays every work and at the last moment you will be running around .

SUPPORTIVE FACULTY AND GOOD LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

Placement Experience :

While the college does not guarantee 100% corporate placement, it facilitates campus interviews and internships. Companies like Amazon, Flipkart, and Tata have rec recruited or offered internships to a percentage of students.

Dream Campus, Not-So-Dream Jobs

Placement Experience :

There are teachers under which u can work and later they can surely help u land a intership, happened with one of my friend. But as of now department dont directly provide u internship. I dont wanna say vague or old numbers about average or highest placement data, so wont comment on it but overall its not that great but there are exceptions, like there are some brilliant minds who lands an enormous off campus placement.(My 2 seniors who r out of india right now) Last year Bharat electronics BHEL came and took 8 seniors for 13lpa package, some banking companies and TCs comes too. My plans after my degree is to get a job in electronic domain while also focusing on my photography and editing Passion Check my work on insta sodaa.edits

My life in B.Borooah College as a science student

Placement Experience :

Placements At B. Borooah College for a BSc Forget it. There's no placement scene like you hear about. No companies come for recruitment drives. The so-called placement cell just puts up notices for government job ads or maybe a local pharmacy needing a helper. I've never seen a single big name visit campus to hire BSc grads. So there's no list of recruiters, no number of offers, and definitely no talk of high packages. Zero students get placed from here in that way. The plan after the degree is everything. For me, it's going for an MSc. For others, it's preparing for government exams, doing B.Ed., or applying to labs and hospitals directly. This college gives you the valid degree, the ticket to sit for other exams or apply further. It doesn't get you a job. It makes you eligible to go find one yourself. Your future is 100% in your own hands after you walk out.

This is one of the best colleges in our Kamrup district, students should take admission without any

Placement Experience :

The ratio of placement and job is very poor, this is a college of general degree course, so after passing B.Sc., B.Sc. one does not get a job directly, in future one has to do Masters degree, PhD.But data from the last three/four year revealed that students did get jobs in SBI and some other organization, but the percentage was very low. That is why most of the students after completing normal graduation take admission in courses like Masters and BEd, Deled. And my plan in future is to do Masters from IIT or IISER, after that I want to do PhD.

Life as a BTech Student at IIT guwahati

Placement Experience :

there is a CPI criteria of around 6 to sit for placements. The highest packages for bachelors can go up to 1.5cr. Companies in coding include Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Ola, Uber, finance companies like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and many more. Highest paying companies are AlphaGrep, Quadeye, JaneStreet but that is very competitive with only people with the best results and from CS getting in. Many people also receive preplacement offers after internships. There are also many companies that visit for product management roles like Ola, Meesho etc. The placement process for Design students is separate. There are also core companies like Texas instruments, that visit.
