- Lack of internet and poor lan network. We have to face a lot of difficulties due to it
- Lack of connection with main town of silchar as the college lies in the outskirts of the silchar.
Remarks :
Factors that made me join this college First my college is one of the best colleges in India to perseu my engineering degree. I also wanted to explore northeast beauty And placement offers are best here. Bad aspects of my college is Lack social connection with main town of silchar. College lies in low network area,due to this we have to face internet issues. Admission process is through jee mains examination after clearing it we'll get our rank and on the basis of ranking we'll get our respective NIT colleges. There's no group discussions, interviews or written tests for admission all I had to do is submit the requested documents (original ones) and feel payment.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I choosed my course because I wanted to become a civil engineer from my childhood, it is the manufacturing of buildings that inspired me to think how they were build. All the faculties here are highly educated from IITS and foreign colleges. Their way of teaching is very unique and interesting. They teach us in english language only and if we miss something they are ready to explain it again. We also have tutorial classes for question solving. The difficulty level of exams is relative and depends upon students if they study they will score a good grade and if they don't they will not. There are 4 exams conducted throughout 1 semester, mid semester examinations then class tests then Minor exams and then our end semester examinations. Exams are very frequent it happens one after another in a gap of few weeks.
Internships Opportunities :
Many good companies get to visit our college like wipro samsung amd many more.... Internships are being available for 2nd year students as I first year I have to work on my skillset development and after it I will start getting my interns.
Placement Experience :
Eligibility criteria for placement is to have good cgpa more than 8 is good more than 9 is very good. Highest package offered by companies this year is 60 lac per annum and average package is 14 lac per annum. Percentage rate of students is also very good 90-95% students are placed from each branch. My plans after getting my degree is to get a good job in my core field.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The year wise fees I pay for my college expenses is 67000, 33500 per semester there's a total of 8 semester. For 1st and last semester they have different fee paying amount. Admission fees- 1000 Library fees-500 IT system fees-1100 T and P charges-500 Transport facility- 500 Mediclaim facility 300 Examine fees 1200 Gymkhana sports fees 1500 Medical facility 300 Hostel seat rent 1500 Light and water charges 1000 Cable tv 130 Mess establishment fees 1500 Total of 11,000 As I belongs to OBC cast having income less than 1 lac so I don't not have to pay tution fees, but I have to pay my mess fees. For my batchmates they have to pay their tution fees If they have income more than 1 lac they have to pay 55000 per semester, including all charges mess fees tution fees and all other fees. There are many scholarships available to financially weak students to help them to presue their btech education. I opted for 2 scholarships First is NSP And other is reliance. Their results still pending.
Campus Life :
Campus life here is very boring nothing to do and very few places to roam around and hangout with friends. There are two major fests in our college first is our technical fest 'Technosis' which happens in the month of November and then our cultural fest which is conducted in the month of February. There's a plenty amount of books available in our college for each and every student. To issue any book we have to take our library card which we got from college. Amenities available in our classroom is fan whiteboard and black board and benches condition of our classroom is good. In our college all types of sports are available except of swimming. All these sports are conducted by Gymkhana union body. There is also a variety of clubs in our college for our character and personality development, and all these clubs are running by our seniors.
Hostel Facilities :
Yes I'm a hosteler. The food quality of our hostel is not very good and very bad. Menu depends on day on different days we have different menus we have 4 times of meal per day. Registration process for hostel is to pay mess fees and submit the payment details to hostel supervisor. In terms of affordability i rate it 8 out of 10. Condition of our hostel is very good they chave clean our hotel very week and furnitures are also good.

There are teachers under which u can work and later they can surely help u land a intership, happened with one of my friend. But as of now department dont directly provide u internship. I dont wanna say vague or old numbers about average or highest placement data, so wont comment on it but overall its not that great but there are exceptions, like there are some brilliant minds who lands an enormous off campus placement.(My 2 seniors who r out of india right now) Last year Bharat electronics BHEL came and took 8 seniors for 13lpa package, some banking companies and TCs comes too. My life in B.Borooah College as a science student
Placement Experience :
Placements At B. Borooah College for a BSc Forget it. There's no placement scene like you hear about. No companies come for recruitment drives. The so-called placement cell just puts up notices for government job ads or maybe a local pharmacy needing a helper. I've never seen a single big name visit campus to hire BSc grads. So there's no list of recruiters, no number of offers, and definitely no talk of high packages. Zero students get placed from here in that way. The plan after the degree is everything. For me, it's going for an MSc. For others, it's preparing for government exams, doing B.Ed., or applying to labs and hospitals directly. This college gives you the valid degree, the ticket to sit for other exams or apply further. It doesn't get you a job. It makes you eligible to go find one yourself. Your future is 100% in your own hands after you walk out.

The ratio of placement and job is very poor, this is a college of general degree course, so after passing B.Sc., B.Sc. one does not get a job directly, in future one has to do Masters degree, PhD.But data from the last three/four year revealed that students did get jobs in SBI and some other organization, but the percentage was very low.That is why most of the students after completing normal graduation take admission in courses like Masters and BEd, Deled.And my plan in future is to do Masters from IIT or IISER, after that I want to do PhD.

Life as a BTech Student at IIT guwahati
Placement Experience :
there is a CPI criteria of around 6 to sit for placements. The highest packages for bachelors can go up to 1.5cr. Companies in coding include Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Ola, Uber, finance companies like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and many more. Highest paying companies are AlphaGrep, Quadeye, JaneStreet but that is very competitive with only people with the best results and from CS getting in. Many people also receive preplacement offers after internships. There are also many companies that visit for product management roles like Ola, Meesho etc. The placement process for Design students is separate. There are also core companies like Texas instruments, that visit.
