Remarks :
The college is well established with its 7 attached hospitals which give a wide scope pf clinical skills.The teaching staff is 1st claas which usually breakdown our batch into small groups so that each professor with 4 pg residents can focus on a 10 student group smoothly. The cons of this college is that it don't organize any fests or fresher's. The selection procedure is based on the ranks and score acquired in NEET exam . The cutoff score varies for AIQ and state quota students as roughly you need a 9k rank to get admission as a unreserved candidate though AIQ counselling.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The MBBS course is a 5.5 yr course including 1 year of paid internship. The course curriculum is according to the strict guideline of NMC. The teaching staaf is well qualified with a lot of years of experience which maintains the acedemic legacy of Gmc srinagar. The college is affiliated to Kashmir university (KU) which examines us throughout our course. The exam pattern is like we have 2 terminal exams,1 send-ups exams,1 university exam in a year .The exam difficulty level varies from moderate to difficult.
Internships Opportunities :
The internship is of 1 year which rotates you in different clinical departments to acquire the medical skiils and procedure. The internship stipend is 14k but it may increase upto 21k within a year on approval
Placement Experience :
The eligibility criteria is you have to complete the course with 1 yr of internship.The placement is based on the medical networks. As such there is no proper placement programms in MBBS as most of the students go for thier higher studies i e specialty training
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee structure of Gmc srinagar varies year to year : 1st year-34800 2nd year-12600 3rd year-9800 Final year-5400 There is no relaxation of fee for reserved categories but you can avail scholarships which is purely based on merit.
Campus Life :
The pros of this college is acedemics inturn the cons is that it doesn't conduct any fest or party. It conducts departmental CME programs which are purely educational. The campus is too good as it is lush green with many parks and a well equipped library which has almost all the books with recent research publication. In addition every year our college renews its own MedJournel magazine-Kashmed which is a nice part of our college. The college is too much concerned about ou health so it organize regular sport meet in which even faculty's and college staaf too participate.
Hostel Facilities :
The girls hostel is in the college campus itself while the boys hostel is 2km away from the college . The fee structure is 28k for the whole duration of course. There are different food options with 3 different mess .The food quality is too good . The Boys hostel is equipped with modern facilities with a indoor and outdoor stadium in the campus itself.

Placements in our college are average only, not very high but not zero also. Few companies come every year for campus recruitment, like TCS, Wipro, Infosys and some local construction firms. They mostly offer roles like junior engineer, site supervisor or trainee. Highest package was around 8 LPA for IT profile, average goes between 3-4 LPA. Almost 50-60% students get placed from campus, rest students go for off campus or higher studies. Eligibility for placement is you need minimum 6.5 CGPA and no active backlogs, also they check communication skills in interviews. No big mass recruiters like in IITs, but still some opportunities are there if you prepare well. If not getting placed through campus, I plan to try off campus drives and also thinking to prepare for govt exams or maybe do M.Tech. College do conduct some training sessions and mock interviews but main thing depends on self preparation.

Here almost 95% students got placed.average salary is around 6-7 lpa.Companies like wipro,infuses,bhel visited here.my plan after degree is to do mtech from iits. Highest package is around 45 lakhs (off campus). On campus it is around 25 lpa.

I am always moved by my college’s course curriculum which is multicultural and gives students a wide range of choices. The courses are demanding but the lecturers are always ready to provide support and counsel. It is affordable to all through scholarships and fair fees.

Eligibility criteria for placement depends on the company, majorly all companies asks for minimum CGPA of 7 or 7.5. Some past major companies which comes for recruitment are amazon, sprinklr, paytm, nvidia, ICICI bank, HDFC bank, maruti suzuki etc. According to 2023 data, highest package offered was 53 LPA, average package offered was 18 LPA, minimum package was 5 LPA. Percentage of students get placed in 2023 is 85%. My plans after getting the degree is to either works on corporate or to prepare for UPSC.

Placement Experience :
The eligibility criteria for the placements of jobs was 65% in the grade card if graduation. The recruitment process was followed by a job examination and job interview. Cipla, SKIMS were some of the recruiters that visited the university and offered almost 15 jobs. The average package offered by the recruiters was 40-70 thousands per month. And the highest package offered by the recruiters was 1.1 Lakh per month. In this recruitment process almost 40% students got placements. I got a private job in a private pharmacy company. Now, I have chosen this job as my carrier after getting the degree.

There were no job or placement opportunities available and it didn’t bothered the college. The main aim of the students as well included to just pass the degree and get out of there. Faculties also discouraged about the job market scenario outside the college which alleviated the trouble.

Companies come for placement also they select students but most of time it sells based company not a product based company also they offer quit low packages.
