I had no choice, after my Jee results. During counselling, I had options of this and some other GFTIs and private universities. SLIET has huge campus and its government college so chose this one. I got this college through CSAB Counselling.
I did not choose this course, i wanted to pursue CSE but got ECE in counselling, but it was not bad experience. Faculties here are well qualified and experienced. Mid terms and end terms every examinations happens on time according to official academic calendar. Difficulty level of exams easy to mederate.
I did a summer internship after my 3rd year but it was off campus, got on my own, No companies visits here till now for internships, some visits for internships + FTE offers for final year students only.
Students become eligible for placement from 7th semester, placement here is average to good. Many companies visits from software and core branches too. Companies like Infosys, Fidelity, Dealermatix, DeltaX, Safeon,L&T, Accenture etc. regularly visits our campus. Last year due to recession, placement was not good.
I took admission in 2021, and i have heard that fee has increased now for later batches, for my batch it is 31k per semester tuition fee, 10k one time caution money (refundable, they say), and 3.5k (yes 3500 INR) hostel fee per semester excluding mess charges which is around 3k per month approx. There are fee waiver fee scheme (merit based) and Mahindra scholarship (merit and category based IMO), also you can apply for state and national scholarships for university students through NSP.
It depends on particular person but life has been good here, you will find plenty of free time apart from academics to explore and try out things on your own. Madhuram and techFest are the cultural and technical festivals respectively happens every year once. There is a lot of books in library, I did not go to read books there tho. Almost all main sports facilities are available, a swimming pool and gym is also there.
Hostel infrastructure may disappoint you but it is also not very bad considering the hostel fees. Hostel registrations happens along with admission. Mess food is good enough to survive, just somedays its not that good, you have option(or chance) to go out have dinner/lunch with friends and have fun.
if you are above 6.0 cgpa and no reappears and backlogs your are eligible for 70 % of companies. recently TCS,AMAZON,COGNIZANT also came for placement highest is 51LPA,6LPA avg. 80% of each batch is placed.
To apply for placements in LPU you need to have 6+cgpa mostly. there no company as i know that went without recruiting any student. the highest was on campus was 51.03lakhs Microsoft and average was 5-6 lakhs. the students around 85 %will be placed .my plan was to do a decent job in any MNC.
Placement at CGC landran is decent around 70 to 80% student got placed based on your skills. The eligibility criteria usually includes minimum 60% marks with no active backlogs. Top recruiter companies includes TCS, Wipro, Infosys and Capgemini. The average package is around 3-4 lpa while highest package can go up to 10 to 12 lpa. Multiple offers are made every year across different domain.
I haven't done any intenship yet but Yes, internships are available at Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Mohali. Companies include TCS, Infosys, startups. Roles: Web Dev, QA, Data Analyst. Stipend ?5k–15k. Tasks include coding, testing, and project work.
The eligibility for placement is no backlog or reappear and CGPA IS above is 6 and fresher they get placement for 6thsem based on the skills and knowledge of the student and they provide a salary of 3 to 12 lakhs per/ year and recently SPICEJET company give around 8 lakhs CTC for 5 to 8 students and my plans after competing the degree is to do higher education in design modeling.
As the course is designed for pharmaceutical industry so the companies like mankind, sunpharma, macloid, overseas etc. Are top recruiters. The average package is 3-3.5 lakh per annum and highest goes upto 4lpa. As after masters most of the students goes for higher studies and teaching so the placement rate is low.
Overall Placement rate is about 60 to 70 percent for every branches . Recruiters provided descent opportunites to the students. Above 7 CGPA students get eligible. Some recruiter are Infosys, TCS, wipro, Siemens etc
College doesn't keep any eligibility criteria for placement it depends on the company which came for recruitment and yea if you had scored around 8+ cgpa you are eligible for every company Regularly company which come for recruiting students are infosys, tcs ,jsw , cognizant, Capgemini,L&T,tata steel etc Average package is 4LPA and highest package is around 55 LPA Around 75-80 percent students get placed in the college Some of the branches like instrumentation and control engineering and mechanical engineering have around 98-100% placement in the previous year
Since the college comes under an institution it opens the gate for various company and even those which just require a graduation degree instead of a specific field. Cadila Lupin etc visits every year. Good 60 to 70 students gets placed.
The placement are good but there are a lot of criterias for the placement and the college faculties force us to take the placement in the development roles to show that the college has 100% placement. There are less companies for the consultancy or data based jobs. The college doesn't provide any on campus intership. They provide intership in the college Startups and they pay very very less and they exploit the interns as lot. I got only 500 rupees for doing 1 month internship and working 6 hours a week.
