I got a Summer internship at ICICI Prudential. College runs a full-fledged summer internship campaign where students have to sit for different companies. Students have to face group discussion person interviews of particular companies to crack SIP for those companies.
I'm at Kolkata offers a hundred percent placement and I'm witnessing it. Popular names come to campus for recruitment like PWC, Deloitte, KPMG, Ernst & Young, Gartner, Grant Thornton, ICICI Prudential, ICICI Bank, ICICI Lombard, Reliance Industries Ltd. Wipro, Mars Wrigley, Federal Bank, Tata Play, and others. Also, 100% of the first-year students get internships through college.
The fee for two full years PGDM program is 14,50,000 Including all the basic hostel and mess accommodation, for years 2023-25. There may be a little bit hike in the fee structure for Year 2024-26. I am I Kolkata offers a scholarship which is based on need-based and merit-based. The scholarship is named TFW (total fee waiver scholarship), Under this scholarship, 100 percent of tuition fees is waived but still you have to pay for your hostel and mess fees.
Life at IMI Kolkata's campus is nice. In January college organizes its annual fest "Confero". The college also organizes several other fests like "Fresher's Party". The college has several clubs and committees that do various types of work. All those clubs and committees are completely student-run bodies. Infrastructure of classroom are very good, All classes are being done with ppt library is fully equipped with books and software like Bloomberg for research purposes. The entire campus is wifi enabled there is a cafeteria, pool room, Basketball court, Volleyball court, and gym available on the campus. A doctor visits the campus every day for 4 hours the college is well-maintained. The Campus is clean and green. College is in the heart of Kolkata so well connected with corporate and public transport.
Hostel facilities are provided to all students there are single sharing and twin-sharing rooms and the rooms are very spacious. Hostel rooms are equipped with E C and are being cleaned every day by staff, Washing machines are available to Washington clothes and laundry services are also available Microwaves and refrigerators are provided in cabins are there one for vegetarians and one for nonvegetarians with decent quality foods. Students don't have to do anything separately to register themselves in hostels, it is included in the admission process. And talking about the affordability of hostels and miss food it is very affordable.
During my admission process, I had to face WAT (writing ability test) and after that, there was a Personal Interview (PI) round in which there was also an extempore. But from 2024 and onwards there will be only person interviews and extempore. There will be no GD. And the interview process will only be conducted online.
Placement is I do not say that is very good but I would say that treatment is almost okay and that's up to you and lot of MNC companies came in our College group. There are internship opportunities industrial training like Euphoria ardent like this MNC and ideas
In this college we have five departments, civil, computer science, mechanical, electrical and mechanical respectively and the stops are very good and the faculties are highly qualified and they are about almost everyone is iitiab
Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.
For computer science student theyare not providing any type of placement in campus but in other department student have any placement opportunity in our collage in every year visit from TCS, APPLO, and many big and small companies
Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.
Still don't about the placements and job opportunities . I haven't even discussed with my seniors about the opportunities after the graduation we get from college.
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
